    The 85 scholarship number is a bye gone relic of the past… UGA has and will continue to use the HOPE and full out NIL money to offset payments to cover room, board etc for any player(s) that are on the roster but don't have a full or partial scholarship. It's the new norm…I hope Kirby has 95 players under some form of payment on the roster these days. Why not, don't think Texas, BAMA, AUB, Texas etc…are not doing this type of accounting.

    Conner…You forgot to mention the young man that was a Preferred Walk On who has entered the portal. He has earned the right for you to acknowledge him being on the roster as a UGA grad and a four year player with Kirby's program.

    UGA has three players in the portal, not two…Just a fact!

    this kid had so much hype! Let’s see if Coley can recruit and develop… BMac is a DGD but I don’t feel like his recruits were killing it on the field.

    Another sensible transfer. He's way down the depth chart. There are at least seven WRs ahead of him, and he's behind both Colbie and RaRa in the X position. He'll get more opportunities at a smaller school (maybe Group of 5).

    I'm excited about the other recruit who's still around from last year - Ant Evans. He's a much better guy to hang on to. I could see him playing a great all-purpose role like Mercole Hardman. He has more ways to get on the field than Williams.

    Where's the tear jerker social media post telling everyone how much he loves UGA?

    It's getting old. Just go and be done with it. No need to go on social media and post stuff nobody gives a crap about.

    I'm thinking The Semi-Noles better be paying attention, Tyler will be a shoe-in starter……great kid, great skills just to many better WR's ahead of him and apparently he was not willing to wait his turn for an opportunity which could have been 2 -3 years…..I wish him well.

    @VenomGA

    Similar to Andrew Paul, more like UGA didn't have a scholarship for him next year. Folks who think that UGA can grab 5 WRs plus a TE out of the transfer portal in 2 seasons without it having an effect aren't being realistic, especially considering that UGA did continue to recruit high school WRs during that time. There are 6 spots for WR on the two-deep. There are 5 transfers plus 2 upperclassmen (Arian Smith, Dillon Bell) and a return specialist (Anthony Evans III). Add the 2 WRs and 2 TEs that UGA brought in for the 2024 recruiting class that are almost certainly going to redshirt this season (the WRs are 6'1" and over but 190 lbs and under; the TEs are similarly 6'4" 225 lbs and under) and do the math.

    @dazzledawg

    Well, a top 100 four star out of state recruit whose position coach split and for whom UGA no longer had room for on the 85 scholarship roster after only 1 season despite everyone knowing that he was a raw prospect who needed to be coached up - he played QB in high school - would be rather justified in not loving UGA right now as much as you do, don't you think?

    @GtheGreek

    Tyler Williams played QB in high school. He knew that it was going to be awhile before he got on the field for any ranked SEC program.

    UGA is over the 85 limit. So, anyone who believes that A. Tyler Williams and Andrew Paul still had scholarships or B. would have still left if they still had their scholarships or C. believe that NIL or anything else would have covered out-of-state tuition, room and board for underclassmen way down the depth chart needs to say what other fantasies they regard to be reality. Kirby Smart was at Alabama when they had their "either medically retire from football to retain your paid for Alabama education or accept a transfer to North Alabama if you still want to play" farce. It isn't realistic to believe that Kirby Smart wasn't going to resort to the same, especially considering how the transfer portal makes it a lot more legitimate (Williams and Paul can go right to, say, Georgia Tech, NC State or UCF without sitting out) than the Alabama farce.
