Personally I think it will come down to which offensive line can perform better. This am sure is a concern for both HC given how Clemson performed in the playoffs and how unsettled Matt’s line looked after spring practice. Here I see neither team having a real advantage.
Agree with your assessment Connor. There is no reason on earth why we can't beat the Tigers. Worst case is the game is a toss up and goes down to the final minutes. Turnovers, who controls the line of scrimmage, and which team comes in better prepared will probably win it.
Daniels has much more game experience than DJ, our run defense is stout, Clemson is replacing several players on the OL, and our RB room is much better. Clemson's defense will be their strength. I think the biggest threat to our defense against the Tigers might be DJ's running ability. The guy is a load to bring down, and the dual-threat he provides is considerable. I think he will use that scrambling ability to his advantage being that this is the first game of the season. Despite the Dawg's secondary inexperience, I'm hoping we can keep the ball in front of us, minimize the damage, and not let DJ get away with big plays with his arm. Clemson's WR Justyn Ross will be the major threat on the deep ball. We've got to contain him.
Clemson will pass attack UGA's supposed weak link...DBs.. I still believe Clemson's QB DJ Uiagalelei is no match for UGA's JT Daniels. On paper, UGA appears stronger than Clemson. Defense definitely stronger and offense on a par with Clemson. On the field we will see. I am picking UGA a solid win by double digits. Gotta run....
