You have to extol praise on your next opponent. That way you look better if you beat them and conversely don't look so bad should you lose to them. I call it insurance.

Pickens hasn't played up to his potential because he's outside the hash marks and 13 can't effectively get him the ball. Put him inside the hashes and his catches will go up. I don't care who gets the ball, because all of our skill players are elite. Just get them the ball in space and block downfield for them and we'll be ok as an offense.

You know it is pure coach-speak when he says Pickens has been playing really well. He hasn't been. He needs to and he can but he hasn't to date. Same thine with Zamir. He can, he just hasn't.
These are the two guys we really need to get into the game we all know they can play.
