Wrong! UGA has not had an elite QB with experience under center. PERIOD. Jake was not elite. Daniels may be the start of reversing that trend. If Fields had not left we would absolutely have been in the playoffs this and last year. If you have a team with the best recruits at every position but QB and receiver, you will likely not be in the playoffs. (UGA is a case study in this)
I love your idea but it will never happen. While we are making up scenarios, why not have Ga Tech swap with Vandy? If your point is to add better competition, then swap Vandy for Clemson.
I am tired of hearing about all the recruiting eliteness of this program. It's like so what??!??!
Vandy needs to be kicked out of the SEC. They are at best an ACC caliber program for athletics. I think the SEC should trade straight up Vandy for UNC. At least the Tar Heels are trying to field a football team and the have a great stadium.
The quality of our roster is not lost on the committee either, as evidenced by the fact that GA is the only 2 loss team in the top 10.
Exactly! So, if everyone agrees that our talent is greater than or equal to Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio State, then why aren't we in the same league with these teams? It has to be coaching, whether it's on the practice field or during the game. Whether it's deciding who the starters are or it's play-calling, it's still the coaching. You can be unlucky to a certain extent, but every year? Saban reloads every year and still has an elite team. He even loses assistant coaches every year and still competes at the highest level. Don't get me wrong, I love Kirby, but he has to make some changes in his coaching philosophy.
With all these consecutive elite recruiting classes, there is absolutely ZERO reason for UGA not to be in the national championship conversation every year. Luck plays a major role in actually winning it, but at the very least, we should be in the conversation as being one the favorites.
