There is plenty of reason to be worried about the virus. While not gonna kill you within 10 minutes of being infected, it is a new virus that has to be figured out. And I hope soon.
But to all the doomsdayers, I'd like to be able to go to the store and buy a roll of toilet paper. The extremes that people are going to is insane. I get the disinfecting worries, but buying out plastic cutlery, plates, and cups is a far reach. Does nobody have hot soap and water at home? Or at least a dish washer that has hot water running thru it?
maybe we'll all laugh about this one day and how "over-reactive" people were. Better that than the alternative.
As a CDC scientist said, the time to do these restrictions is when they feel silly. If you wait until you have no choice it's too late.
This is total BS Mike. Fear mongering by the government and health establishment of the worst sort and perpetuated by the fear of lawsuits if the institutions don’t fall in line. Canceling these events will do little to nothing to stop the spread of the virus, but it will instead have a tremendous negative economic impact on people far worse than the virus. Thousands of hourly workers who earn a living from these events will face much greater hardship than a cold or a flu. The pious talking heads preach to the public like we are children and can’t make rational choices for ourselves. Are we never going to be able to go out in public because we might get sick? When and where does this stop.
