Still looking toward a Labor Day open. However, the campuses must be activated by then. Other scenarios probe the idea of a partial opening...some conferences. Then there is the inter-college scrimmages that surfaced initially. Also, maybe even a later start date for every conference. Sankey is in constant contact with the SEC AD's. I can see some type of football activity in the fall, to what extent is the question. It may not be pretty....but it will be FOOTBALL! GO DAWGS!!!
I am becoming more and more skeptical that we know the full story of this whole pandemic. I truly believe there is much more "behind closed doors" going on that the vast majority realize. We will find out just how docile our population is when and if the college football season is cancelled or significantly delayed. I must say that I admire the citizens of Wisconsin for their proactive approach. That movement could prove to have a significant affect on our national future. Just my opinion.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that we will see college football in some form this year. Whether it is a limited length season or a regular season like the past remains to be seen. It could be a season with only conference games. I don't believe the option of playing later in the year would fit because of the extreme cold weather that some teams up north would have. College football pays the bills for a lot of big schools and a lot of them don't have the surplus fund that the University of Georgia has. A lot can change with this virus. A vaccine or a medicine that could treat it are both possibilities. Let us all pray for a cure for this terrible virus. It has brought the world as we know it to a standstill. It has destroyed our economy and taken away the lives of loved ones. We have to hope...........
