One QB. Kirby loves consistently and he wants his QB to be the leader. Your QB can't be the leader if he's rotating with another QB. Mathis starts the season and takes the helm. The players love him, he's already shown he can battle through adversity and he's the most complete QB that can beat you running and throwing.
If they load the box on us, then I am thinking that George Pickens will feast on 1-1 matchups. We need a QB that can just get him a 50-50 ball and extend the play a second or two.
The unfortunate thing that we are missing with all these QBs is a true dual threat. With limited experience now available at receiver this puts a lot of pressure on the QB and offensive line.
My belief - just like what occurred last season against Fromm - opponents will load the box and force us to prove we can consistently complete passes.
I agree with the article, and the points on the 10 game SEC schedule taking it's toll. 2-3 QB's is very possible, and that may not even be a negative by the time the season's over.
Ironically, this Covid thing has given all those, we play a 9- game B1G schedule fans what they've always wanted. The SEC 8- game schedule always trumps their 9-game schedule. With the SEC playing against each other 10 times that gives the B1G the advantage they've always lobbied for.
