Bama wasn't missing the guys Ohio State had out for Covid. Let's be real about that. I'm not saying they would have won but it was a very different team that took the field in the NC game. Waddle was gone earlier in the season. But they had the Heisman winner still on the roster.
Found this on one of the Bama sites today.
I hope they can reverse places after Monday but it was kind of funny!
Simple bump Williams on the line and grab Young when you get to him and put him on the ground this is not touch football
Knock him hard on the line and don't let him run unencumbered into the field. Keep the defense simple and put their QB on his butt. My concern is will the ref's call PI and holding on the Alabama DB's who do it almost every play?
In the Mykell Williams clip I hope that #72 signs with FU. UGA's D can't play any worse than they did vs AL in the SECCG. That in itself has to be encouraging. NSmith NOT falling on the BYoung fumble late in 2Q cost UGA a TD before halftime. Must bring a better scheme with better coverage and better pressure to this game. Do that and there is a good chance to win. You can bet the farm that Saban is working night and day to scheme to take BBowers away.
Not rocket science...stop Williams and Young. Stretch out UGA offense and mix-em up. Just for starters.
We need to get us a couple five star wide receivers who can take the top off a defense. It's the missing piece that we just can't seem to get.
That guy threw for 427 yards and six touchdowns through the air plus one on the ground. When they played Alabama in the national championship game that team was loaded with covid and didn't even have all their players. There is no way you can compare fields to Stetson Bennett go ahead and cut that out.
Nah, it really wasn't that close of a game. We could've potentially been more in it, but they pretty well dominated us. We needed a different gameplan to win that game.
Young threaded the needle on a few plays in the first game, but it was mostly our own fault that cost us the game. Take away a couple of blown assignments in our secondary and Bennet's pick 6, and we would've won it. Limit those types of mistakes, and we just might win this one.
Hard to believe that Williams was the 5th or 6th best wide receiver at Ohio State last year when the Justin Fields led offense performed much worse than the Stetson Bennett led offense against Bama. Hmmmm, I wonder how Bennett would have performed with wall-to-wall All American receivers? Go Dawgs!!!
