How does a schedule have anything to do with how good a team you have? It might effect the record, but not how good you are.
TOS has a 5 game cakewalk that leads to their first real game on Oct 12/The Oregon Ducks….a ligit road game in Eugene…first defeat…..couple of weeks later on to Happy Valley….they better win/ a lose, Cryin Ryan can start packing cause Big Blue comes to town Nov 30 and by then Sherrone Moore will have the folks at the Horseshoe consumed with angst looking for a new farrier. Klatt falls Flat once again.
Yeah, it’s kinda dumb. “Can’t make them #1 because it’s going to be hard for them not to win every game” kinda lessens the value of what #1 actually means…
He would take an unproven QB over a proven one. Got it, all that's needed to know.
Who cares if we aren't ranked #1 before the season starts. Guys, just go out there every day and do what you do. Focus on the NOW, every day at practice and every moment during games. It'll get squared away in the end. I believe in our players and our coaches. Ya'll are a bright spot for many of us in a world that seems to be going insane.
The opponents that a team plays has NO bearing on how good the said ranked team is. The coaches poll and AP are just polls that teams will be rankled on kickoff day. I would be pretty comfortable playing the bucknuts on day one to prove the point. Vegas would have UGA favored in the Benz on 08/31/24, just sayin'.
