I Really, Really hope and pray Mitchell will be back fully healthy and soon. But this could give players like Dillon Bell more opportunity to step up. Go Dawgs !!
Definitely a better report than last year at this time . Like every coach says . One game at a time .
@brvhrt the news outlets typically use a transcribing service for these press conferences and sometimes (oftentimes, actually) things get lost in the translation, sort of like what you see sometimes with closed-captioning for TV. Just going off a hunch, Kirby probably said, "We're hopeful (to get him back) but it's more about where he goes and where HE'S at." I'm thinking that's how it went down.
And no @GBAL, Kirby doesn't owe any of us an explanation or update about injuries, not even to the reporters who follow the team. And it's for that very reason that he has no reason to lie or mislead or speak in double talk about injuries. He could simply pull a Bill Belechek and say, "we don't talk about injuries," and that would be that. What has folks frustrated is that he said Saturday right after the game that Mitchell could have returned to action if necessary. Now today Kirby's saying he can't practice and he further intimated that it might be a while before Mitchell is back. All he had to say initially is, "we just don't know about AD yet. We'll see." Now, some fans are wondering, what's real and what's not. It's not a huge deal, but I think fans pay WAY MORE ATTENTION to the idea that a coach is trying to hide something than other coaches do. This ain't hockey and even I'm not even sure that works for that sport anymore. Go Dawgs!
I will almost guarantee you that Kirby said it like that. He can channel his inner-Yogi sometimes 🤣
Not sure I understand Kirby's double talk, but with 14 other players catching the ball last Saturday something tells me we're going to be just fine without Mitchell for a week or two.
Why do some feel Kirby is obligated to tell them (and upcoming opponents) the extent of injury and who they need to prepare for.
I’m getting about **** sick of Kirby saying “we think he coulda gone if he needed too but held him out” after injuries, only to later find out it’s more serious.
AD will not be able to practice today,” Smart said. “We’re hopeful (to get him back) but it’s more about where he goes and where is at.”
Was it actually said like that or is it an article mistake?
Wouldn't you know, AD Mitchell is questionable for SC game. Smart would not let him practice today...sounds serious...at least more serius than originally reported.
