We Dawgs need to have an athletic program that is committed to excellence in every way, with no exceptions. We must have it from our grounds keeping all the way up to our players, Coaches, Athletic Director and President. Everything that we do must be done with excellence, that includes facilities.
Yep. We've been pulling in top classes year after year without the facilities and I've never heard a recruit claim that the training facility was a big reason for signing. I've read how our dining plan was a big reason for one of them LOL.
Every recruit talks about "relationships" with the coaches, the ability to go out and "compete" and the overall plan for how they'll be used and how it'll help them get a shot at the NFL. It's how we've gotten top RBs over the years and fewer high profile WRs.
Don't be surprised if we lose our "Running Back U" title as we continue to increase our passing game.
I agree with the premise of the article. But building new facilities and upgrading sends recruits a clear message that winning matters to the institution.
Not so long ago Ga's rivals were telling recruits that UGA didn't have the same kind of commitment. "just ask to tour their indoor practice facility." Georgia didn't have one and teams like LSU and Alabama benefited by signing players who would've otherwise played for Georgia.
