we would love to have you at Georgia as a dawg. I think the benefits would be great for you to learn and understand what it takes to play in college. It would definitely increase your stock as a player on DRAFT DAY.
Sentell: "Junior Tyson Campbell, Senior D.J. Daniel and redshirt junior Eric Stokes, Jr. all have that potential and the vast playing experience for the Bulldogs during the 2019 season as part of the nation’s top-ranked scoring defense. Georgia also signed the nation’s No. 1 cornerback for the 2020 cycle in former 5-star Kelee Ringo, too." Grimes is a good catch if we can get him but UGA is talented at CB. Kelee Ringo should excel. Top CB rankingt for 2020. That in itself should entice Grimes to enroll at UGA.
Oh contraire ScoreCheck buddy, I think he and his dad will see the value in coming in early and developing both physically and academically. He can get his feet wet and play 4 games, learn the system, then go to the NFL in four years with a degree. Sounds like the perfect situation to me.
Georgia clearly has more talent and depth at Tony Grimes position than any of his three other choices, but that should be seen as a positive. Georgia has more talent for a reason...
Come to UGA, where coach Warren and Kirby Smart are putting out great DB talent. Play 4 games the first year and learn from the best. 3-4 years down the line get drafted as the No.1 CB in the NFL draft... GOOODAWGS!
He could still come to Georgia. With the new rules that enable a player to participate in four games without losing eligibility, he could get into our strength program and learn the game from the older players on the roster. Coach Warren and Kirby can work with him and have him ready to hit the field running next year. I don't see him benefiting from going to a school based just on the ability to start this season. There is no way he would be an instant starter without taking a lot of lumps along the way. Losing his confidence would not help him long term. This scenario of coming to Georgia and developing himself with an eye toward starting next year would be his best option.
I do not see any logical reason to play another season in high school, even if they do have a season this year. If his high school coaches can develop him better than a D1 program then that coach needs to be promoted! I agree with ScoreChick, his graduating early does not help our chances with Mr. Grimes.
Let's see - early playing time, or learning under a defensive guru able to coach up a former running back to where he was one of the best at his position ( defensive position, at that). Go with the guru - your dividends per season will increase by millions come draft day (when considering the alternative).
