Alabama will be playing for a shot at a national championship (general consensus - lose to UGA and out). You can argue that they're one play away from being undefeated, they're still loaded with top ranked players, and past performance is no indication of how they'll do Saturday. Coach Saban has shown amazing resiliency in the past, especially against UGA, and we're 0-6 against Alabama recently.
However, this is our chance to re-write the narrative for both the short and the long term. There is a sea change taking place with new coaches at Florida and LSU, Texas A&M is recruiting at a white-hot level, and Texas and Oklahoma will be here soon. Anyone who thinks they can accurately predict the SEC in 5 years is kidding himself. Best case scenario is that UGA wins out AND sets up a dynasty in college football for years to come. If Alabama loses to UGA, I fully expect a significant number of their players to either sit out their bowl game (or to mail it in). Lot's of potential benefits for UGA ...
