I doubt he has anything to tell that the coaches can't see on film. I could be wrong.
All this old Dawg can say is....go gettem DK! Great addition to an inexperienced UGA defensive backfield. I'm also thinking it is Kelee Ringo's year to shine! You can rely on Clemson going at the CBs. Smith will be back there at star and should be a big help. I'm very hopeful UGA will hold its own at CB. August should tell us a lot more. GO DAWGS!!!
Venable is a great defensive coach, but he can be beat. Look back at what Ohio State did in last year's play off game. JT is going to have to throw it and throw it some more to have the Dawgs come out on top. The questions are will Kirby let Monken turn it loose on offense, and will the OL give JT adequate protection against the Tigers relentless pass rush? We will all see September 4th.
Hmm, yeah, except that Clemson also knows what he can tell us. I think what it ultimately probably does is make the game more of a chess match, rather than giving Georgia an overt advantage. That being said, if Kendrick gives us that sort of info and Clemson doesn't forsee and adjust for it, then yeah, that's a big advantage.
DK's biggest contribution to UGA's 2021 season will be telling UGA's coaches the in's and out's of venables defense at clemson. Any possible advantage should be seized when given the opportunity. Sure they may change some of the wording and names of plays or schemes but it's still the same formations and schemes.
Think about it....If JT Daniels knows pre-snap that the safety will be rotating to the right side of the field to help in covering the post route on a given play, he can then throw it deep on the left side of the field, without worry, because there wont be any help over the top. Or if he knows where the DB blitzes are coming from and can throw it where they wont be after the snap...etc..etc..etc lol
Should be a fun game!!
GO DAWGS!!!
