Not to mention we have more OKLA threads on our forum than theirs.

they probably should @donm. but according to BR Pruitt is now the front runner... this is just getting silly...

I do not think of it as Tucker bolting. It is what happens to all great college programs. Their coaches get recruited by other schools. As much as I like what Tucker has done at Georgia, all you can say is congratulations when someone is offered a 3 or 4 million dollar raise.

Sherrer should be the option I would think.

Honestly the thing I think about here is who is really callin the defense??? Is it tucker or is it smart?? Tucker is a great coach but you really never know who is calling it. It was that way at Bama with Nick and Kirby for a while. So that’s something I’m curious in knowing.

Thread bump... Tucker talking to Maryland about head coaching job. I wouldn’t take that job, but just curious as to who y’all think would be his replacement? It may not be Maryland, but it’s going to eventually happen. I was thinking Sherrer before he went to UT.

I hope that USCjr gets fed up with Muschamp and that he would be our DC

I think the most likely situation would be that Glenn Schumann takes the position

I think Tucker agent is doing the talking not so much him. Kinda of a play to let other schools know he is looking. I think he won’t take it. Granted he is getting up in his age and his window is going to begin closing. Also he isn’t from this area. That would be a challenge for him to recruit. I think he would be a solid conference USA or Sunbelt coach.

Maryland is in shambles right now. Recruiting is going to prove to be extremely difficult.

Tucker will take a job, but Tucker will make sure he takes a good one. I wouldn’t call Maryland a good one even before all this mess

As for his replacement? I could see Schumann and another young buck taking his place on staff.

If Muschamp ever came home that would be amazing although I think he’s at Carolina for the foreseeable future

I would really enjoy seeing Kirby and Muschamp both Rip of headsets at the same time

Tucker has done a fantastic job, but I don't think he has the name recognition yet to be considered for a major HC position. In another year or two he might be a hot commodity.

I think Mel is great but what I don’t understand is why haven’t Venables or Aranda been offered a HC gig. You would think both of those guys have nationa recognition.

Venabales has turned down gigs as he has some older kids, and is letting them finish out school before he takes a shot at HC (from what I’ve heard).

Bc they are both making first time HC $$ in a coordinator position so why jump unless it’s an amazing move?

My guess - Glenn Schumann would replace Tucker (ala a young Kirby for Saban).

    My guess, as well.

Schumann is my guess. He's been Kirby's right hand man for 7 or 8 years, he's a great recruiter and a big picture thinker. He is also very young, we might be able to hold onto him till somebody hires him to be their HC.

He knows how to recruit 310+ lb NTs. He'll get it done for sure.

oops. My faulty memory banks in action. I thought he graduated from the "way bigger is way better tree of coaching".
