Good advice Big Mike…..it was like I was speaking to a brick wall. Go Dawgs and Happy New Year!!!
What the heck are you talking about? How in the world did you get the idea that I was a fan of justin fields? I am only talking about the University of Georgia and I have never, EVER said anything positive about justin fields. Every post I have ever made in regards to him backs that up. He lied about the University of Georgia, quit the team and went elsewhere. He means nothing to me and never has. You brought him into this and my reply was in regards to his playing time at the University of Georgia against Alabama and ONLY the University of Georgia. My comments about him were also not positive comments. This is not an ohio state forum.
I have grown tired of this nonsense and your buffoonery. All I have said is what you never addressed: Why did we not see backups in blowouts? It made no sense then and does not now. It was that simple but you felt the need to trash one of our players, that being JT Daniels, and call other posters names.
I will not be replying further so go ahead, claim victory and feel good about yourself with your next inane post, which I am certain will follow shortly. And, as much as I'm sure you could use one, we are not now nor will we ever be "pals".
Sorry Pal about your short term memory issues. This year (January ‘21) your buddy Justin Fields threw for 1 TD and less than 190 yards passing hitting only 50% of his passes. He ONLY scored 24 points against the same Bama team that Bennett scored 24 against. Only difference is Bennet lost 41-24 and Fields lost 52-24…….Now you know.
I would tag this as "Off Topic" because nothing you said about my posts was remotely true.
Also, Justin Fields did not play 2 games against Alabama. He played 2 PLAYS against Alabama. The quarterback prior to Daniels that played Alabama was Jake Fromm who had it won till a breakdown by the defense AFTER Alabama made a change to QB, which has been my entire argument.
I did NOT bash Bennet about total points or anything else. What I said was, Daniels needed playing time in blowouts.
Reading is Fundamental.
Ooooops, sorry pal, I forgot Justin Fields lost 2 games vs Bama. Last year when he didn’t play even slightly as good as Bennett and then years before in the SEC CG when he totally choked the fake punt that would have worked. That one cost us the game and the playoffs, but it’s history. My angst is with the clowns who constantly tear down Bennett with totally ridiculous claims. Example: you and your fellow Bennett Bashers will say incessantly that Stetson ONLY scored 24 points each year against #1 ranked Bama teams, but fail to mention your boy only scored 22 points against #9 Cincinnati and 3 points against #19 Clemson. Hmmmmm
Justin Fields? What? He was in for, like, 2 plays against Alabama. And if you look, I actually did say anytime you get 300+ yards it is impressive. regardless of QB name.
I'm not quite sure what your issue is because you really seem to have this strange infatuation with trashing Daniels and lauding Bennett. I did not trash Bennett nor did I sing Daniels’ praises. I did, however, question the rotation of QBs in a blowout.
I really could not care less about your thoughts since you seem to have this “selective reading” that you have accused me of. If I did care, perhaps you could enlighten me with your thoughts on why Bennett plays every snap in a blowout win and the number 2 QB doesn’t touch the field. Heck, I’ll even go with the premise that Daniels is hurt and can’t so, if that was the case, why doesn’t Beck see the field? Or even Vandagriff?
I can think of no other situation with UGA where that has been the case. No other QB we have had has done that, that I recall. Maybe he has but I don’t recall.
And again, it was Daniels’ drive that gave Podlesney the opportunity to kick that record breaking field goal. It certainly wasn’t the running game. He ran 8 plays for 44 yards in under a minute and a half under incredible pressure. And despite what you seem to believe, Cincinnati was not a cupcake, unlike our regular season this year. Neither was/is clem(p)son.
And LOL-ing your own posts is sad.
That “only” QB on our team who didn’t look great against Bama played light years better last year than Justin Fields against that same Bama team. Also, you experts who keep saying that Bennett is 0-2 vs #1 Bama fail to mention in the only games JT has played against teams with winning records (ranked #19 and #9) he was 2-0, BUT, he would be 0-2 if Pod hadn’t hit a Peach Bowl record FG and our defense didn’t score on a pick6 against Clemson. In your fantasy world, JT would have scored 1400% more points than he had against #19 Clemson and miraculously defeat #1 Bama 42-41. Go Dawgs!!!
Not sure where you gleaned that I “clearly” knew about JT’s injury. Every post has mentioned him getting no playing time in blowouts.
Some folks just would rather post silly comments than read what they are criticizing. I believe every single one of my posts in this thread had to do with Daniels getting no playing time after losing the starting job in contrast to how he was pulled in every blowout when he was the starter. When I did mention yards in a game it was in reference to saying that 300+ yards was impressive and even gave that same credit to Bennett.
And only one quarterback on our current team has lost to Alabama twice did not look great in either and played the full game both times.
You clearly act like you know everything about JT’s injury and recovery. Why are you so confident that it was just Kirby being a jerk and not playing him. I assure you the coaches attend all the practices and know light years more than we do. There is definitely some other reason he hasn’t been playing and we don’t have a clue. Maybe he didn’t want to play in those games or limit what he did. I don’t know and neither do you.
So I assume you must be impressed with JT throwing for 130 yards on 30 attempts against Clemson since you are focused on yards per attempt. Or maybe it was his INT in that game or that our offense scored 3 points. Wow…..3 points and you think he would score enough to beat Bama….like 42?
I never said he should be immediately inserted as the starter. I said he has been given no opportunities in games. You cannot you explain the Charleston Southern game and certainly not the tech game. These were prime opportunities to get him in and playing in real games. If Daniels had started the tech game, he’d have been pulled after the first quarter yet Bennett goes the full game.
That just does not make any sense at all.
Daniels was injured in what has been called a fluke in practice when he wasn’t even supposed to be touched. That fluke keeps him out, basically, an entire season. I gotta believe he hates the player that bumped into him.
Point taken... However, do you really think it's a good idea to put JT in as starter when he's NOT had the practice reps needed to be his best. If he was completely healed of the injury, and he had the reps then I might agree. Lastly, look at SBIV stats and compare them with other top SEC QBs.
Nuff said... Go Dawgs!
Well, if you go that route, let's say your girlfriend broke her leg and can't dance so you dance with her best friend (with her permission). When your girlfriend's leg is healed, do you dump her for her friend or do you go to the next dance with your girlfriend?
I have never agreed with losing your job due to injury. Daniel's has not been given any real game experience since Vandy, which I do not understand. And it's not like we have been in close games.
And this refresh nonsense is driving me nuts. It took 4 times to write this post, eventually having to write elsewhere and then paste it as it kept getting wiped out on refresh.
That's the truth. I'm not posting anything worth reading if it's a pain to write and post it (and it is).
What idiot designed the refresh?
Go, Dawgs!
Which QB? I was raised that you dance with the one who brung ya'. However, if the one who brung ya' cannot dance or for health reasons can't dance, then its OK to dance with someone else :)
Just SayN'
Go Dawgs!
I never said 342 yards passing wasn’t impressive. In fact, I actually said the opposite so thank you for confirming my point while trying to discredit it. However, I would add to that that throwing the ball 5 yards or less and your receivers running for an additional 20 is not what I consider a long pass.
My point being, there are more ways to score than a passing TD. The passing can get you to that field goal range that allows your kicker the opportunity but also makes it a shorter run for your RBs. I would also say, JT’s play at the end of t hat Cincinnati game is what even gave Podlesney the opportunity to kick the game winner, lest we forget. Let us also not forget that UGA only ran for 45 yards in that game.
Also, why is it, when Daniels is the starter and the team is blowing the opponent out, he is pulled in the first quarter or first half while Bennett goes whistle to whistle? Why was Bennett playing the entire tech game? Why was Daniels only allowed to hand off for one series against Charleston Southern?
None of that makes any sense.
Yes, 392 yards by JT against Cincinnati is impressive as are SB’s 342 against the #1 team. What’s not impressive is JT’s 1 TD and 1 INT in that game. BUT, the most telling stat is JT only succeeded on 9% (1 for 11) of his 3rd down conversions. That’s horrible.
Equating who the better quarterback is based on touchdown passes thrown while disregarding passing yards gained is a ridiculous post. I have news for you, not every pass ends in a touchdown. Sometimes you get a whole bunch of yards so that it is easier to run for the score. 392 yards is pretty darned impressive and anyone that knows football would understand this.
And the defense didn’t play their best game against Alabama but seriously, our defense stopped them several times and gave pretty good field position to our offense only to have them come up empty.
I know who the better quarterback is, hands down but, regardless of who is under center, they will have my full support until it is time to make a change. I would feel that way regardless of who was starting. You know who else would say that? The head coach of that same Alabama team who has beaten us twice with his “backup” going in when the starter wasn’t getting it done. I would add, both of that coach’s backups are now in the NFL.
And this refresh nonsense is driving me nuts. It took 4 times to write this post, eventually having to write elsewhere and then paste it as it kept getting wiped out on refresh.
I hope and think, all who are posting here are fans of the DAWGS. When has it been against the rules to question the decisions that come from above? We love America, and question the decisions that are made from the top. If we have questions, and opinions that are different from the current script, it does not mean I am not a supporter. I have issue with coach KS not following Auburn's blue-print to beat AL, which was to play man coverage on the back end, and rush 6-7 to keep the QB on his back all night, preventing him from throwing downfield...Unwanted result, young picking us apart. Best QB is Daniels, IMP.....But I'm supporting SB, hope he wins it all....But I think QB situation was mishandled prior to the FL game.....Now J.T. is missed out on valuable rep needed reps he should have been getting, to get back in the line-up for more difficult games. Daniels carved up Vandy for 35 points in 1st quarter, and no other QB did that, not even AL
If you're not pulling for all Dawgs, you're not worthy of being called a Dawg fan. I've had enough of the Stetson trashing by so-called "fans" of my beloved Bulldogs! There's plenty of other fanbases for you to join so just do it.
