Re: Georgia football final grades from emphatic SEC championship win over Alabama
I think Gunner should be a B+ to A-. His stats weren’t overwhelming, but he had numerous key plays and didn’t make significant mistakes. Also 77% passing, 3 TDs and no interceptions against a very good defense is nothing to sneeze at. Thus he was named the game’s MVP. Go Dawgs and great job by all!!!

I did it, i said we were better off missing it. Shame on me. Very proud of our dawgs - the weight is off our backs!!!
Re: Georgia football final grades from emphatic SEC championship win over Alabama
Think these grades are right on, esp noting all the contributions of the TEs in the game, not just receptions.
The great thing is that I believe Georgia has even more upside from here, as long as they stay (relatively) healthy. Just as importantly, UGA beat Bama handily while playing it's A game in some, but not all, phases of the game... even more reason the Tide doesn't belong in the CFP!
Finally, I'd add two individual grades to the above:
Mike Bobo - A ... he was masterful
Malachi Toliver - A+ ... maybe it's a grade on a curve, but for a guy who was bemoaned all week, he showed up big time!
What a day, night, weekend... we have grads from UGA, IU, and Duke in our family, so it's gonna be an unusually bright Sunday 😎
Re: Kirby Smart shares emotions for team: âthey love contact, and we love themâ
Saw this article on another site - some interesting stuff…..
The Alabama Crimson Tide set a new low in the SEC Championship Game. The 28-7 win by Georgia was the fifth SEC Championship Game loss for Alabama. The 21-point deficit is by far the worst loss. Before Saturday, Alabama's worst had been two 15-point losses to Florida in 1993 and 1996. The Crimson Tide still leads all SEC football teams with 11 wins in the big game.
Another fact is that the 21-point loss was Alabama's worst loss against the Bulldogs since 1976. The '76 Tide team lost 21-0 to Georgia in Athens.
Even more stunning is that the Crimson Tide's net minus-three yards rushing against the Bulldogs was Alabama's worst since 1968, and according to multiple sources, it was also Alabama's second-worst performance since the 1940s. Almost as stunning are the 18 quarterback pressures applied by the Bulldogs.
There is little more worth discussing about the game. A hat tip goes to Kirby Smart, his staff, and his players. The Georgia Bulldogs outcoached and outplayed the Alabama Crimson Tide. Yes, Alabama was without key players, but that is no excuse. It was the Crimson Tide's too frequently seen weaknesses that made it no match for the Bulldogs. Had Georgia not had 80 yards in penalties compared to five for Alabama, the beating would have been even worse.

Re: Georgia football defense brought its belt to whip Alabama in SEC championship game
When is the last time you've seen an Alabama team dominated like they were tonight. Actually, the score should have been worse.
