Re: The key area Ole Miss zeroed in on to beat Georgia, 39-34, in Sugar Bowl victory
So, Golding went into the game wanting to win on third down? That's not a gameplan. It's like saying your strategy is to outscore the other team.

Kirby, his coaches, and the team squandered an opportunity to win a national championship last night. It is hard to beat a team twice in the same year and nearly impossible when you beat yourself first by making poor decisions at critical times. The route to the national championship couldn't have been set up better if they had found a way to win this game. Too bad the September version of this team showed up for this game. On balance this team will be remembered for winning the SEC but absolutely squandering a chance for something bigger. The season is over and it is all about next year now.
Re: Social media calls out Kirby Smart for fourth quarter decision-making in Georgia loss
Indiana may never be this good again.
Ill stick with UGA

Wow, such negativity. People are acting like we were Bama that just got destroyed or maybe a Tenn or Vandy with disappointing endings. Texas Tech got shut out. Did you forget that Ohio State lost? Who is that magical team that is doing everything right? Indiana is an one time thing, Miami literally has our former QB.
Oue program may be unconventional but it works
Re: Social media calls out Kirby Smart for fourth quarter decision-making in Georgia loss
Not unless we get another dynamic receiver like Branch from the portal. Georgia is losing a huge majority of its receiver production this offseason.
Re: Social media calls out Kirby Smart for fourth quarter decision-making in Georgia loss
Kirby needs to get off the old school genre and pay the dang money for elite DL. Losing too many to to TT and Ohio State. Next year we are in the Pop Tart bowl.

The defense played their worst game in months. The offense also left a lot to be desired. And it took a comeback capped off by a last second field goal to beat them. If either the offense or the defense just had a average performance, Georgia wins that game.
You say the offensive approach is not sustainable. I don't know what you mean by that. This team was arguably 1 play (attempted explosive to a 5* receiver) away from entering the Sugar Bowl (or I guess the Rose Bowl) 13-0, and SEC champions for the second straight year. And for about half the season, the defense was hard to watch.
I'm not saying I don't want Smart to embrace a more "high octane offense" mindset. I don't really care. I just want to see them play well and win. That didn't happen last night. There were much, much bigger issues in that game than offensive identity. You alluded to some of them yourself.

I was going to respond to this as well, but by the fourth or fifth cherry-picked argument I decided not to bother.
Re: Social media calls out Kirby Smart for fourth quarter decision-making in Georgia loss
I think there are several things right now in today's era of college football that have hit Georgia right in the mouth. In general, the SEC has gotten weaker the last few years. This year was the weakest the SEC has been in forever. The top teams in the SEC are now out of the playoffs. Indiana looked like they were playing a scrimmage team when they destroyed Bama.
Is Ole Miss the best the SEC can offer now?
Yep.
Bottom line: The Dawgs may be resilient, gritty, and tough, but what they don't have is an elite QB and an elite passing game. Their OL is mediocre at best, and as good as the defense has played, they can't win every game. Running the ball is super important, but it is only one facet of the game. If you can't play complementary football today and have an equally good passing game, then you aren't going to win a Natty.
Too many highs and lows, too much inconsistency in play and at QB, and too much dependency on erratic school yard haphazard football play to win games. I'm not seeing that kind of play from Indiana, and I didn't see it from the National Champion Buckeyes last season who dominated their opponents in the playoffs.
We've seen this same kind of Georgia team recently and had the same kind of results. We need a better way forward.
