Re: Ryan Puglisi choosing a different path at Georgia as fellow 2024 quarterbacks hit transfer portal
“ If he stays, he will have 2027/28 to prove himself.”
@Brooksie this is an important fact that gets lost in the shuffle as these young athletes are obsessed with playing time as a true freshman. Two years as a starter and finishing as a fifth-year senior seems to be the best recipe for high draft stock for most quarterbacks (with some exceptions, of course).

The way I see it...in current times. Is that, you can't really project a quarterback more than 1 season ahead. We're set for 2026. The 2027 Season....could be Puglisi or Montgomery...or somebody on another team's roster.
Who knows?....Before it's over, Jared Curtis could be quarterbacking the Dawgs in '27. Never say never, these days. Lol
I trust Coach Lea with his preliminary development. Lol
Go Dawgs.
Re: The five data points that define the 2026 Georgia football recruiting class
As am I. Most people don't know this but there are more 3* players drafted into the NFL then 4 and 5*s combined…star ratings = better chances to be drafted in the first round, nothing more than that. Was reading an article about the 2020 NFL draft. 19/5*s and 73/4*s were selected out of all of the 255 draft picks, the remaining 163 were 3*s/2*s/unrated…of course, there is only a 6% chance a 3* or lower will get drafted but that is because there are so many of them. Load up with 4s and 3s, add in a few top notch transfers and presto, you have a number 1 ranked Indiana. Loading up on 5stars used to matter but in today's environment I'd rather load up on committed highly skilled athletes and spend the millions plus on already developed players like Mendoza and a few lethal defensive and WR playmakers than breaking the bank on HS phenom and having no money left to get him a great supporting cast…and failing to recruit a strong supporting cast to boot.

Re: The five data points that define the 2026 Georgia football recruiting class
if you don’t have quality depth, you’ll be sitting at home this time of year…hard to build a 3-4 year roster that way. Pretty sure we will still be at least in the top 2 or 3 in blue chips for all players on the team.
Certainly no worries on my end, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work”,
Heck, I’m even okay with 3 stars, most of this stuff is graded on measurables anyway - from some that have never seen them play live.
Pretty sure the coaches are more qualified for the final grading.

Re: The five data points that define the 2026 Georgia football recruiting class
Recruit players that want to stay and get developed, fill the immediate needs via the TP. Another DawgN8N article that failed to mention that AGAIN…but grabbing 23 BLUE CHIP recruits (22 4/5* PLUS the number 1 kicker, not sure why Wade Register the number 2 kicker hasn't signed yet) versus the number 1 SEC leader Bama's 14…let me repeat and emphasize, 23 vs 14 blue chip prospects heading to Bama…is an astonishing feat. The only team to sign more was aTm who bought 24 bluechippers…but hey, let's focus on the first numerical column in the 247Comp rankings, the 1 thru 150 number. Don't know about your thoughts @JeffSentell but if I were stacking depth into a program I believe I would take the class with the most bluechip candidates while saving a bunch of millions just chasing a few 5*s…just saying. I bet you didn't know but…14 bluechip recruits for Bama is the lowest count since 2007. Saban averaged 20+ a year since that time. If I were Bama I would be worried or at the least ask the question, are we paying too much to get 5stars and missing out on a lot of 4stars?

Re: The overlooked reason Georgia football is peaking entering the College Football Playoff
Last year, felt like an Off-Year, all way around to me. For everybody in the SEC, anyway. Saban was missing, and a lot of SEC talent fled to the Big10/12, last year and the year before [NiL/TP].
Maybe i'm off.…but, there seemed to be an unusual number of injuries costing playing-time. Not just for the Dawgs, either.
Whatever it was....they have it sorted out....and, the SEC is sailin' in the wind. While the BIGs have an uphill battle..imo. Lack of Iron to sharpen their Iron on.…in the BIGs.
Like UGA....The best players OSU faces, are on their team. But, the Dawgs have 6 or 8 teams on their schedule, that can give em a fight, in the trenches.
Not so, with OSU. They've got a whopping 2 or 3 teams on their schedule, that "might" matchup.
Imo....UGA is so far ahead of everybody else, right now....they can toy with OSU [or A&M], before breaking their heart. On the way to their 3rd Natty in 5 years.
Go Dawgs!!!
Re: Ryan Puglisi choosing a different path at Georgia as fellow 2024 quarterbacks hit transfer portal
“…. and guys who had the starting job but were leaving because their head coach failed to surround them with the talent needed to succeed (Raiola).”
Everyone knew what Nebraska had (or didn’t have) to surround Raiola with, and it wasn’t going to get any better just because he was there. That Head Coach was never going to perform the miracle needed to make Raiola successful. He was at Nebraska because he couldn’t imagine himself as a backup at UGA (or anywhere else). If getting sacked is his idea of development, then he’s ready to be a starter for a real CFB program! Maybe he can strike a deal with Kiffin at LSU!
GO DAWGS!
