Re: Details emerge follow Walmart shoplifting arrest of 2 Georgia football players
Warning Way Off Topic !! But Prothro the TE from Bowdon is looking good playing Lincoln County. Any how he went down with what look like cramps an a Lincoln player ran over and started him stretch the injured leg !! Love seeing this respect and camaraderie in sports !! Yeah young people pull some bad stunts but they also do some good things to. Good game between these two coming to a close now Another kid from Bowdon just made an NFL like catch !!

Re: Details emerge follow Walmart shoplifting arrest of 2 Georgia football players
I'm typically a "no excuses" person when it comes to these sorts of cases. I'm not one of these, "let the facts play out," or "we all did **** things when we were young" type of people, because the only time people ever seem to say that is when they want an athlete (usually from their favorite team) available to play. In any other situation, at any other time (especially politics), it's "lock 'em up and throw away the key," as soon as the story breaks.
But this story, AS IT IS REPORTED AND WRITTEN, just has a bunch of holes in it. Many of them have already been alluded to in this string. For example, one thing the story doesn't make clear (and perhaps it's not in the police report), is whether the two guys actually paid for ANY items. If they did, it would seem odd — though not impossible — that they paid for some items but omitted a few others. Again, as a former retail store employee and former police reporter, I know that there are people who do just that, but it's not your typical thief. Also, as others have said, the items listed in this story just don't total $100. But apparently another platform has a far more detailed itemized list that totals $94. That one seems plausible.
Even so, even as freshman, one would have to believe these two guys had (have) $100.00 between them. Just surprising.
Then again, when I attended UGA — from 1977-81 — Herschel Walker's sister, who was on the women's track team, was arrested for stealing a $2.00 belt from a local Athens store. We were all shocked by that, too, because we ALL KNEW that Herschel could have purchased the whole rack of belts if he wanted to. So, again, who knows why people with money steal. But sometimes they do. No excuses.

Lol....Exactly! Not exactly the kind of people that would go stealing something....like cleaning gear??. Now...Crab Legs??? I could see that. In Tallahassee. Lol
And, for the record....I think this is a horseshit case....that deserves a helluva lot more explanation. From both guys, the police....And, "Walmart"!
Did they "try to pay" and, the payment method NOT go thru...or get rejected?
