Re: Georgia loves what itâs seeing from Elyiss Williams: âHeâs a weaponâ
As big and athletic as EW is, there is no way he shouldn't be a dominant force in the run and pass game for UGA. He just needs the opportunities. He's a matchup nightmare for D coordinators in the passing game, and he's a really good blocker in the run game, which will help with explosive runs. In 21' and '22, I would tell people to watch where number 0 (Darnell Washington went, and that's where the ball was going, because why wouldn't you run behind that guy? I'm sure defenses knew it too, but they couldn't stop it. I believe EW has an opportunity to be a more of a pass-catching threat than Washington.

@navydawg…I concur with Chief. I trust Bobo will use the TE room more consistently and more often than he has in the past. At least, one can only hope. Again, it's simply FALSE that the TE's can't get open or that Gunner cannot connect with them. Gunner connected on (9) completed passes and just shy of 100 yards to several TEs against Ole Miss in the regular season. The best offensive performance of last season. And we won. I keep harping on this game, but it is all true!
Re: Georgia loves what itâs seeing from Elyiss Williams: âHeâs a weaponâ
Williams is faster than Washington was. He played wide receiver, as well as TE in High School. He may be an inch shorter, but who could notice the difference. The touchdown catch for the Dawgs showed his ability to catch the ball. He blocks at the same level.
Hope he and Gunner can connect well.

Nice Gramster, lived next to Bill Berry of REM in Reed Hall back in the 80"s. Go Dawgs!

@UGADad20 @MontanaDawg Hey question guys is Williams quite a bit faster than DW was or just a smidgen faster or not faster at all ? Just curious Y’all’s thoughts.
And like everyone else or at least most have been saying Bobo should give Gunner much more plays to the TEs over the middle and down the field. And yes Gunner needs to execute those plays.
On Gunner’s part I believe he is and will work hard to get better and by start of season I have faith in him that he Will get better. As for Bobo he’s been in football in some capacity the majority of his life. Surely he has to realize the value of the TEs he has and will use them more. I Hope he does and until other wise I’m gonna have faith in him to.
I’d dearly Love if this years OLine could give Gunner two to three More ticks of clean protection than last year’s. Which as the season went on last year’s O Line was pretty good. In my view some what better than the year before them. Which was sort of strange because allot of those guys went to the NFL.
That tells me that even though there’s allot of New on this year’s O Line it doesn’t mean they can’t get better than the 2025 group. Hoping the youth, enthusiasm and above all NFL experience of Rauscher will translate quickly into success !! Thx in advance for your opinions !! Go Dawgs !!
