Re: Kirby Smart makes it clear how he wants the state of Georgia to help Bulldogs navigate NIL front
Its not that fhey.afe notenforceable m, but that the language doesnt make the contrats straight forward and there isbt much to any legal precedent sonno telling what happens in court. Its your point about being employees that makes the contracts less direct. Because the schools dont want to classify then as employees and bc college is "still technically not pay to play" the contracts typically say some version of they are paying tbe playerz for their NIL rights. Not that they are there to play football. So when they break them and dip if u go to court who knows what will happen (schools probably lose bc its also the cool trendy verdict to keep giving it to the ncaa). Its all so garbage. Im not against guys getting paid, but it was the affiliation or them being students and school teams that connects the majority of the fan base and made the game special . Now we see it being pushed further and further in all directions every one making the game worse in some way or form. At some poibt it seems the idea of what college used fo be and how it was great and why and maintaining that has veen completely forgotten. Or lost and it is solely looked at from a school make money school didnt give player money, school bad. Game should have paid and then eveybother change except for stopping at a point that makes sense abd is reasonable they just kept moving the bar all the way into **** dumb or the same level of wrong it was supposedly in and needed change from , just on the opposute side of who has advantage. Re: While Georgiaâs running back room will be a strength, it does face one real question for 2026
“”Gunner is going to have to put in the time with his new receivers, and realize that he has to throw the ball vertically”
Pretty sure he knows it - it was the OL that struggled to give him 3 or more seconds….too busy running 4 his life or getting the crap knocked out of him - or at least that is what I saw from my seat.
Changes have been made.

I had to scratch my head at some of the times Bobo had Cash getting the ball out of the backfield when there were better options. Not having Branch to throw a lateral, or a sideline screen to is going to be a bigger deal. Gunner is going to have to put in the time with his new receivers, and realize that he has to throw the ball vertically to them in order to get this team across the finish line. UGA may now have the fastest running back in the nation in Jae Lamar, and I hope he is one of the players thatr Kirby is talking about when he says that the freshmen have to be ready. Playmakers that are above average, or WAY above average are usually what it takes to win a Natty in this 12 team playoff era.
Re: While Georgiaâs running back room will be a strength, it does face one real question for 2026
Just saw where Gunner turned down much more money from other teams to stay at UGA. Kid has character and you can’t teach that. He’s a leader and I can’t think of another QB that I would want to lead our guys.
Re: Kirby Smart makes it clear how he wants the state of Georgia to help Bulldogs navigate NIL front
I was never against players getting a reasonable stipend along with a free scholly and other benefits. But the nearly unlimited NIL has destroyed the game as we knew it.
But it’s here in full force. So all Kirby can do is Try to get the best players he can whether from Ga. or other states. Get the best he can out of HS using building them for the NFL as his sales pitch.
I Know this year is not a good example of sending guys to the NFL. But Plenty of previous years even very recent ones Are. Then wade into the TP and get the best he can to supplement. There’s not much more he Can do in terms of getting guys on campus. Then Coach Em Up !!
These days $$ is King !! That’s why I’ve been preaching don’t so quickly discard last season !! It IS Definitely gonna get harder and harder to Win at Elite levels in CFB !! It’s Not who’s necessarily the best coach anymore it’s Who can buy the best players. For those players who commit to UGA and Stay for 4 maybe even 4+ years we should salute them and call them DGDs !!

Re: Kirby Smart makes it clear how he wants the state of Georgia to help Bulldogs navigate NIL front
Yeah thats what everyone wants except maybe playedz or so it seems. Unfortunatel6 it isnt that straight foreard or easy a fix. With so many court rulings and precedent estabkish3d thru law suits it makes ut almost impossible to enforce keeping a guy as well as the language in the contracta doesnt state they are being paid for football bc the schools don't want them to be employees and college is still technically not completely pay to play. Sure there are other things to. Essentially everything is stuck in a half measure or there is a barrier preventing the solution from taking place and things are only getting worse m
