Re: Georgia coach Kirby Smart takes âUse them or lose themâ approach
Totally agree! This guy was that good he would still be at Clemson. We do have for real a superb TE room. Please use them as receivers and not just a blocking tool.

Re: Cold start dooms Georgia, Texas A&M deals Bulldogs 3rd straight loss
That's a pretty harsh evaluation. And I'M accused of being negative? Seems like quite a double standard here.
UGA has not committed the resources necessary for basketball to be competitive on a national level. These days it is easier than ever to buy some better players. It seems that every player basketball buys is one less player football can buy. So we know where the money is going.
From what I have seen they play hard and compete. The problem with this team is that they are not as talented as a typical SEC team and they lack size. UGA has a 5'9" PG and a starting shooting guard (#0) who would barely make the rotation on most SEC teams.
This is what UGA expects you to accept based on the amount of resources UGA commits to basketball. It says a lot about the program when a UGA legacy from the state goes to Clemson then transfers to play at UGA only to transfer back to Clemson the following year (RJ Godfrey).
CBB is one sport where 1 dominant player can carry a team deep into the playoffs and rankings. See BYU '25-'26. See '24-'25 Florida. Walter Clayton carried FU to a championship. UGA does not have those types of players.
@Gramster "doesn’t take an elite player to shoot a 3 point shot when your trailing by 3 with a second to go!" I saw that game. The D was set up to deny the 3. UGA had a play set up that wasn't executed because the D was set up to deny the 3. The UGA PG broke down the D but found no one to pass out to so he drove in to try and draw a foul. There was nothing left for him to do as time ran out. That isn't on coaching.

Re: Sentellâs Intel: Thereâs a blizzard of prospects hitting UGA this weekend
What with the NIL/Portal takeover, these big recruiting weekends apparently are still "mandatory" to stay in the game, but sure seem meaningless. We probably don't want to know the massive amount of money it costs to host these teenagers with greedy agents, many of whom have virtually zero interest in actually going to Georgia (even for a year), and most of whose weekend purpose is primarily to have an amazing time on our nickel. Sigh. Go Dawgs!
Re: Brett Thorson highlights Georgia football all-star game performances
Dillon Bell played in the Shrine game on tuesday. I didn't watch much of it but I did see a UGA helmet and a white jersey #86 w/ "Bell" on the back in the game on multiple series.
I saw Morris in the game also. I did not see NThomas in the game.

Too bad it was such a crappy weekend.

Well, this is so cool to have all these elite 5 stars on campus, but we cannot afford any of them.

@MikeGriffith I appreciate you like a brother but you are starting to look like the defiant mouse giving the eagle the finger as it swoops in for the kill. Nothing in your counter point justifies WHY these Mediocre Mike teams are so FUNDAMENTALLY challenged. It doesn’t take an elite high dollar player to block out, it doesn’t take not take an elite high dollar player to make pick instead of just pretending to, it doesn’t take an elite player to pass to the open man and it certainly doesn’t take an elite player to shoot a 3 point shot when your trailing by 3 with a second to go! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, White is in his 4th year at the helm, fundamentals should be ingrained into the program by now, yes?

Re: Cold start dooms Georgia, Texas A&M deals Bulldogs 3rd straight loss
@Gramster Actually, the play was for Blue to get a quick two, but Tennessee, one of the top defensive teams in the country, denied that look and the ball went back outside. Smurf panicked… happens. Georgia is a good team that has hit a tough stretch of games and lost a tight one in OT. It's basketball, and all but a handful of 360-plus teams have their ups and downs. Mike White is a good coach. The constant complaining isn't going to bring in the type of NIL money that would put UGA in the top 25 percent in the league — and that's what it takes if you want to look like a Final Four team every time out. Georgia is a power forward short of being where it needs to be, in my opinion.
