Re: Jake Fromm reveals where Gunner Stockton can improve most before 2026 season
Astute observation, can't believe Fromm failed to mention but I'm sure his focus was the need to utilize our DIAMOND STUDDED GOLD MINE TE Room…..averaging 6' 4"-5", and 240lbs, quick over the middle hits combined with YAC means free long shots to WR's and room to hit the second level on the sides for RB's.

Less time practicing running into a wall and more time developing the perfect placement and timing on that beautiful 20 yard out route that Mendoza and Burrow are so prolific in hitting…

Re: Former Georgia outside linebacker Kris Jones announces transfer to Boston College
Some transfers are logical. This kid is a very good player but unfortunately he’s buried behind some seriously talented players so, good luck kid at your next stop. More playing time in your future…plus the extra coins don’t hurt.

Re: Georgia football defensive line poised to benefit from 2025 growing pains
There is a lot of optimism in this article. Perhaps the guys will step up. One of the measures of success should be amount of forced throws caused. I would have said sacks but that does not seem to be our forte. Another measure might be how many yards opposing QB's gain off scrambles where we don't contain. Not calling anyone out just saying these might be a couple of areas where we need to improve.
Re: Georgia outside linebacker Elo Modozie enters transfer portal
So... how has every NFL franchise managed to handle it?
Re: Georgia outside linebacker Elo Modozie enters transfer portal
Since when did Harris or Mendozie become Outside LBs by the way? I thought they were both essentially edge rushing DEs but ok, outside linebacker it is

The Gabe Harris coming back affect. See ya later.

Re: Georgia outside linebacker Elo Modozie enters transfer portal
Yes, they move them, sometimes to the LOS - but standing or hand in dirt (edge). And sometimes back with the rest of the LB’s. Depends on what defense they are in & situation. The OLB has to be versatile and able to play both positions, a hybrid.
Defense usually run out of a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 base.

Re: Georgia outside linebacker Elo Modozie enters transfer portal
the dawgs basically run out of 2 defensive formations. The 3-3-5 and the 4-2-5. They adjust in & out of these formations when they see the offensive set of their opponent.
They list Harris as an OLB, but it is also called Edge when he moves up to the LOS. It’s a dual position, or hybrid. The idea is to have a person that can play both positions so the D’ can adjust without someone leaving the field..
The Edge position is basically the same as the old DE position - they just changed the name to Edge in this D’. They also basically have the same responsibilities,
When he/Harris is back at OLB - he is of course off the LOS and playing back with the other backers.
The concept is a lot like the old monster defense that some used when people were running off balanced lines. They had a position called “monster man” and he would call for the defensive line to shift to the strong side once the offense lined up. He would then also line up on the defensive line as a DE or drop into coverage as a LB/DB.
The Star position is a similar hybrid position.
