Re: SEC announces expansion of league football schedule in 2026
what is this strength of schedule metric? And how do we know it will truly honor SOS?
The Big Ten is already acting as though their conference, top to bottom, is as strong as the SEC. They were adamant that we play 9 conferences games like they do—which means more of our teams will beat each other up. They have too many cupcakes in the Big Ten. I can’t say I trust the playoff selection process because they have never given us any consistency in evaluations.
Re: SEC announces expansion of league football schedule in 2026
I'm not a big fan of this decision, but I'm not surprised either. I would have preferred them make it a requirement to play two Pwr 4 teams outside of the conference. We were supposed to play UCLA this year, and I'd much rather see them play someone like that than another SEC team. Scheduling a team like that has its difficulties, but it could be done. I think a good record against other conferences would do a lot more for good SOS numbers at least give an honest view of comparative strength. I think our third "rival" game will be Tenn, but could be USC as Tenn likely has Bama, Vandy and UF (or KY). Someone's got to have the Ky's, vandy's, Ark's, MS St's of the league.
Re: Steve Spurrier take on Georgiaâs Stetson Bennett âbest quarterback in school historyâ
I may be wrong but, I think this last game with the Rams is gonna jumpstart Stetson's career. Watching him in 2021 and 2022, you could tell as the season progressed and we kept winning, his confidence grew and grew and he and all those great players around him became an unstoppable force. I remember in one game after (I think)throwing a touchdown pass, the Camera was on him running down the field toward the end zone—he turned toward the camera, grinning like a possum, and did a "drop the mic moment"—I remember thinking to myself, this dude "knows" he's gonna win every game.

Mark Richt was once asked about his relationship with Spurrier, and he told sportswriters how he felt about it. When Mark’s wife was diagnosed with cancer, and he let the world know about it, he said the first phone call at the hospital he received, was from Steve Spurrier. The Old Ball Coach offered his home for the Richt family, then offered to pray for the “Water Girl.

Re: Steve Spurrier take on Georgiaâs Stetson Bennett âbest quarterback in school historyâ
What’s wrong with those QB stats comparisons? The one with more passes, completions, completion percentage and national championships doesn’t have a heisman trophy.
However, I’d rather have the 2 national championships.
Re: Steve Spurrier take on Georgiaâs Stetson Bennett âbest quarterback in school historyâ
Spurrier won the Heisman because of Carlos Alvarez the best wide receiver to ever play at the University of Florida.

That 2021 Georgia defense was as good as it gets!
