Re: AP Poll Top 25 rankings for Week 3: Georgia set for top XX matchup against Tennessee
Coach Smart obviously has confidence in Coach Bobo. I suspect we’ll find a way to slow down Tennessee’s fast moving offense like we always do and our offensive line will open a few holes and we’ll be just fine.
Re: AP Poll Top 25 rankings for Week 3: Georgia set for top XX matchup against Tennessee
The really telling item on "the rankings"...is that the "Coaches'" Poll got it just about right....except for Penn, that is. While the AP properly bent the knee and licked all usual the butts. Imo...Penn St has no business being ranked that high.
Dawgs are #1 or #2. We just don't know which, yet We'll have a pretty good idea....soon.
My Prediction:
- Game 3....UGA wins by 35 points vs Tenn
- Game 4.….Stockton enters the Heisman race.
I 'll save the rest of the story. Don't want to ruin the suspense. I'd have to include a spoiler alert. Lol
Re: Georgia opens as favorite over Tennessee, eye-opening SEC Week 3 betting lines
Interesting Smart attributed the slow start against the Govs in part to the hot weather. Maybe it was a sideline interview, but I remember years ago when we went to Columbia and beat the Gamecocks on a really hot day, Smart was asked how they handled the Gamecocks and the heat, and he said we love the heat. So… is our conditioning lacking now? Because if so, that doesn’t bode well for Knoxville.

We're favored? You can't make this stuff up!
Re: Georgia football final grades following win over Austin Peay
The OL is a mystery considering the size in the room. They just aren't very good individually or as a unit. Saw one play where AP brought 6 rushers. Announcers commented on the replay "AP brings 6 vs 5 UGA OL". Watched Monroe Freeling block no one. He looked inside as DE ran right around him and OG blocked the man in front of him.
GS has a real problem 1) throwing over the OL in general and especially to the middle of the field and 2) knowing where his receivers are and knowing his primary and secondary receivers. I'm not sure he is even looking downfield. He seems fixated on the pass rush. Not sure anyone could have a lot of success with how poorly the OL is playing.
Frazier has a fumbling problem. Humphrey has a timid problem. Not a good trait in a WR. Had high hopes to play down hill, bully ball w/big backs RRob and McCray. They have been non-existent in the 1st 2 games.
OC CMB is in the booth. Substitutions are made on the sideline, by CKS, based on divvying up playing time to keep everybody happy/involved. I don't think Bobo even knows who is in the game when he makes a play call. Sure enough, saw it again saturday, "hand off, Cash Jones, up the middle". SMH.
AP ran a nice screen (to the RB!) or 2 on saturday. Saw somebody else run a nice center TE screen. Can't remember the last time I saw UGA run a traditional screen play.
