Re: Former UGA great rips Gunner Stockton, picks Tennessee to win
Murray didn’t criticize Gunner Stockton. That’s just Brandon Adams looking for clicks on his podcast. I watched the video and Murray just broke down what he saw and what Gunner didn’t see. He mentioned that Gunner was rushing through his reads, but both he and Matt Stinchcomb point out that some of that is on the o line not holding or missing blocks. Gunner will get more comfortable the more he plays, but worried about o lines inconsistency.
Re: What stood out in Georgia football rewatch of Week 2 win over Austin Peay
Glover was a revelation. 6'3" 320-pound true Freshman. He needs to be on the field. With Hughley on the right side. I am now an official Langston Hughes HS fan. I think the OL improved on stunt pickup (and AP stunted like crazy with some crazy stunts). Still a long way to go.
Re: Gunner. Both Marshall and AP played cover 2 or cover 3 deep all game. The long ball was not there. The D was giving us mid-range. However, I too saw a bunch of plays where he saw the open man (I don't think he missed them) and did not pull the trigger for some reason. Either checked down or ran. So yes, no big play. But always positive yardage and no INTs. Heck, half the pass plays called are nothing more than extended handoffs anyways.
If Nate puts the ball on the ground (trying to do too much), Nate should sit a while and calm down. This team does not need any single player to be superman. Besides, Phillips (another revelation), Bowens and Cash have been outstanding.
Finger's crossed for this next one.

Absolutely OK for Murray to speak his mind, anywhere, anytime. We can’t be so thin-skinned. Gunner and Bobo should be criticized.
Re: Why the genius of Kirby Smartâs success at Tennessee is in the simplicity
@mitch_earl…Mostly agree with you. According the the latest update on the 247 2025 Team Talent Composite rankings, Georgia is now #1 (moved past Bama who they just barely trailed a month ago). The Vols are #16.
But, the Vols do have a more experienced roster overall, and I go back to my belief that experience trumps talent when it comes down to the rubber meeting the road. The Coaching and development edge definitely goes to Kirby over Heupel. But then you have to add back in Neyland stadium and the noise…a definite home field advantage for the Vols…most of the time.
I think it's going to come down to which team executes the best and makes the fewest mistakes. There is no room for mistakes in this contest. But, I'd be really surprised if we can just go with a totally conservative game plan depending on mostly the running game and short dinks by Gunner to win this contest. The Vols will be expecting this kind of thing. I think at least a few BIG, explosive plays will be needed.
