Re: By day 3, 1,250 have entered the basketball transfer portal
eh…now it’s just out in the open. This sort of pay for play was happening 40 years ago too. These days it’s legal and covered by the media.
The 30 for 30 docs pony excess and greatest that never was highlight it.

Re: By day 3, 1,250 have entered the basketball transfer portal
To a degree… nothing like what is now upon on us and evolving.

Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
yeah I think ultimately it appears to be creepy but not criminal

Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
or it could have been a case of "nothing to see here". The alleged victims apparently haven't followed up with anything in the legal system. Seems a dead issue here in the Gainesville area. Haven't seen or heard anything in a long while.
Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
It was close and, ergo, exciting. at least for me. What I can't get is the incredible whining on social media about the officiating. I would guess that most of it came from folks who have never refed a game in their lives. One of the best lines was from Jay Williams who said something like the team that adjusted best to the officiating won the game. And it wasn't just the UF vs UJ game. It seemed incessant throughout the tourney. And in the women's tourney as well. Pathetic.
Re: House v. NCAA settlement: Where itâs at, what it means for Georgia
We're heading to student athletes becoming employees. It's the only way forward to reign in the potential abuse, corruption, and provide enforceable terms and accountability to these player 'contracts '. The Wild West of college football (and certain other sports) will continue until the NCAA and Congress grow a spine. And the parity that the transfer rules were trying to achieve may be gone as well. The richest programs will obviously have a leg up for the best recruits and offer the best deals. Schools can get around the salary cap by simply keeping the NIL Collectives as separate entities outside the schools.
As much as I do think players deserve to be paid, the system that's coming isn't a great solution.
Re: Ryan Puglisi believes the Georgia QB competition is real and that he can win it
I think it is great having two quarterbacks that have been steadfast in their desire to play for the University of Georgia. In a time where money and transfers rule and the lack of patience runs rampant, being dedicated to a school is refreshing. That is also not a slam on Beck, who waited his three years before getting a chance (5 years total) and earned his degree from UGA. I maintain he will always be a DGD but the writing was on the wall.
Stockton earned his chance, I hope to see Puglisi get his, as well.

Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
I wonder if Mrs. Golden proud of Todd. His scandal sure went dark quick, no mention of it after the first couple weeks of the season. Then he wins the natty. Reminds me of Michigan football.
Re: Just curious...
Does the schools paying the players in the future level the playing field? Or is there still the opportunity for any player to strike a huge deal outside the university payments.
Re: Kirby Smart provides encouraging update on what G-Day format will look like
Totally agree Chief. It’s a sad thing for this ole Dawgs fan as I’m sure it is for thousands of others. 😥
