Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
yeah, I hated to see it end like that! You could see the anguish in the player bc he knew he couldn’t go after the ball again! Just very unfortunate and a tough break for him. Sports can be extremely elating and at times utterly heartbreaking! Those are the breaks, but I guess that’s one of the reasons we love competitive sports so much!

Re: Just curious...
Not faulting Kirby at all….when he made his comments last week about recruits who are all about the money move down or off the list, I was figuring it would just be a matter of time before some of those 11th hour offers came and pulled a few.
I'd rather Kirby be clear and concise about what he values and wants the program to be. Otherwise, what is he getting paid for? Making financial offers?
Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
I think the Hoston player felt the time/game pressure and lost his concentration. I don't know if the play was even designed for him but he jumped up for a shot after dribbling and somehow lost the ball and couldn't' pick it back up or it would have been a double dribble. Tough break for UG/good break for UF.
Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
Well I thought that the officiating was sub par, but the game was ok. What was perplexing to me was the final play for Houston! You have got to create a decent shot or allow an Opportunity for a scorer to make a play!!! WTH happened!!!
All in all I enjoyed the tournament. I actually thought Duke was the best team overall, but they kinda choked against Houston. The SEC represented well though! I feel like the SEC had 4 maybe 5 teams with a decent chance to win it all.

Re: Houston/fla basketball game was atrocious
lack of continuity via the portal is worse in basketball. Everyone lives and dies by the 3. The shot selection at the end for Houston was maddening.

Re: Just curious...
Not only that, but once they sign the retention of classes has gone with the wind. Most players used to stay where they signed. Now they leave for numerous reasons, especially free agency. We find our team playing against guys who won Nattys in R&B, and rooting for former Gators and Trojans and Aggies. Kind of weird, but sort of like the pros. It's making me less interested in anything but the games and the season TBH.
Re: On the Beat: Why Gunner Stockton makes top 8 of Way-too-early QB ranking list
Not trying to be a homer here but Gunner is going to have a coming out party this year. We actually have some elite receivers that can catch the ball…

Re: Georgia guard Savo DrezgiÄÂ enters transfer portal
imagine if we would have hired Todd Golden ? Wow. It was possible. Brooks did the safe hire instead. But I will say other than Silas we haven’t lost any major contributors from last season yet. Except those out of eligibility of course. And we replaced Silas with a guy who may end up being a better fit. There are many things you can say about Mike White(& it’s White not Price) but you can’t say players don’t like playing for him. That’s just not the case.Let’s see how the portal ends up shaking out for us. I get the criticism but in the end we all want the same thing. UGA to be relevant in basketball. At least I hope that’s what everyone wants
