Re: anyone out there?
One small point: it was Furman Bisher, not Bishop. Georgia football has come full circle for me. Kirby has unified the info they are putting out and the whole organization reflects his PR objectives. Talent and ability, what fans are most interested in, aren't the focus. How hard players are working is almost always the subject. It's important to the team, but pretty boring for fans hearing over and over how hard players are working. We want to hear who is playing great and Kirby doesn't allow that to leak out.
Also, NIL has made recruiting less important because so many players change schools now. Back in the 60's and 70's, most fans just followed the games, and that's what I'm returning to on the circle. I do take a look at who they signed and I watch some of their HS highlights, but I realize the guy might be gone in a year month or two. I think a lot of the apparent fan disinterest is really just adjustment to Kirby's changes and CFB's new realities. All you have is speculation from the talking heads and they are usually wrong. Time for other hobbies.
Re: WELL….
can’t have a first half like that in a tournament much less in the big dance or we will get bounced quickly. Ole Miss had way more fight in them to begin the game and the poor first half ended up being the downfall. The refs missed two blatant goal tends and that should’ve been 3 free throws to end the game and not two which proved to be big missed calls.
Re: Spring Training
Would be an interesting research project to see spring training records over the years and compare them to actual finishes that season. I can't put too much stock in spring training wins and losses with the # of players who are shuffled in and out of lineups, players who are available or not do the international series going on etc. Of course, it is always a better result when one wins, as long as no one is seriously injured.
Re: Spring Training
16-5 is impressive. I'll never buy that it doesn't matter who wins in Spring Training. Of course it does. Why would you want to lose any game
Re: Spring Training
Some have said he plays a more "active" game: steals, hit and run. Don't know if he will go so far as to bunt or not, but…
article on new first base coach suggests he can turn players into base stealing threats. That might inject some juice into the players.
