The silver lining in this story is it's not Glioblastoma. I lost my older brother to that type of tumor two months ago. A Glioblastoma tumor is pretty much a death sentence, so thankfully Kelly has a benign tumor and should have a full recovery.
I'm sorry to read she's going through that. Especially with young kids at home. Here's hoping for a successful procedure and a full recovery.
I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a close family member is brutal and two months isn't much time to deal with it.
As soon as I saw the article my heart sank to the floor.
I think it was Matthew's Soph. year and my younger brother brought his family to town from SD. I took both families to Athens for G-Day. It's been our tradition to the Globe after the scrimmage. At the table next us was Stafford and his family, who had flown in from Texas. I recognized him and pointed Matthew out to my son and Nephews. They got all excited and wanted to meet him. I said I wouldn't interrupt Matthew... well my wife is a lot bolder and politely approached the Stafford table and asked Matthew if he wouldn't mind taking a picture with the kids. Matt's parents were very flattered and super friendly. Matthew was very gracious. He took pictures with the boys and talked to each one of them. I'll never forget it, so when I saw this story about his dear wife I immediately read it to see if it was Glio. Yes, my brother's death is very fresh in my mind. He was an amazing guy.
Once bumped into them walking their dog together in a nearby park. Three things struck me: (1) he is a very big dude, (2) she is beautiful, and (3) they were as nice as could be.
Hope and pray for the best with this.
She went to Georgia and was there shortly after me. Prayers for the family and her doctors that it goes well. God’s will be done.
Prayers to the Stafford family
Horrible to hear, but wish them the best
Prayers!!!
Absolutely horrible news. May the Good Lord b with the Stafford family and restore Mrs Stafford to full health.
I hope we hear some follow-up news on the success of the surgery. It's a pretty complex surgery that takes hours to prep. She'll be awake for most of it and will be asked questions throughout, depending on the location of the tumor. They want to make sure during the removal process they're not impacting tissue that effects speech and cognitive abilities.
Good bless and prayers.
Prayers out to the Stafford family. Draw strength from the lord above and let friends and family help out.
