It was so horrible and pervasive that athletes thought it was a hazing ritual and a rite of passage. OSU coaches and admin are scum for ignoring this.

Look it's nasty for sure, but in the 70's and 80's perverts were just that, perverts. Not necessarily viewed as criminals. Students today would never view this behavior as hazing.
