BA - and before everyone "savages me" - I KNOW it's not the exact same situation - but I'm with you...this is reminding me a heck of a lot of the week leading into LSU last year...where even the guests you had from LSU were saying LSU had no shot...and then...yeah...they ended up housing us.

Nice piece, BA. Captured my own, shall we say unscientific, concerns that have sprouted up over the past day or two. No reason to think the Dawgs aren't capable of dominating ND. But when this many in the media are expecting it and not even shy about saying so... I hate to say it but it makes me nervous.

All of the RAT Poison is ridiculous. This Georgia team has NOT PROVEN anything yet.

Examples of formulas to beat Georgia:

LSU formula - Fromm extremely inaccurate, bad playcalling, couldn't stop the run, dropped passes

Alabama formula - playing "not to lose" with the lead, injuries, lost containment, missing field goals

Texas formula - 3 fumbles, 3+ dropped passes, lost containment on mobile QB, couldn't stop the run

All 3 teams had less 5-stars at the time Georgia lost to them. We HOPE we get the "Chopping wood" version of Georgia from 2017. Saturday night we'll find out. Go Dawgs!

    @ Dawgsandbones4life

Sorry my friend - and I defer to BA - but as an avid podcast listener and as someone who eagerly went to the game last year hopeful for that unblemished season for the Dawgs - he indeed had an LSU reporter on saying something to the effect of 'in the end the Dawgs are just going to be too much for the Tigers and I don't see how LSU can get the win here'...I may have engaged in some hyperbole using the term "no chance" - but the Dawgs were favored by 8.5 @ LSU...factor in the typical 3 for home field (would have potentially been 11.5 at Athens) - and it's close to what they're favored by at home against ND when they opened at 12.5...

All that said I do agree that programs like LSU always have a shot against virtually anyone - and I do agree that our Dawgs will win Saturday...I feel like it will be a slow burn - predicting 31-14 or 38-14...with ND really never being "in it" but the Dawgs just slowly eating away at them - not quickly destroying them outright.

Think as a longtime Dawg fan it's going to just take some getting used to being favored and closing the deal hard, instead of getting my heart ripped out...like the sadly hapless performance in Baton Rouge last year...
