What about the Washington State QB that threw for nine TDs even though his team lost to UCLA. What about the UCLA QB that brought his team back from a 49 - 17 deficit mid way of the third quarter and put 67 on Wasu for the win IN REGULATION! The point is, when offenses are playing against air, any QB can put up gaudy numbers. The Wasu and UCLA QBs are just as deserving of Heisman consideration as Tua, Hurts, and especially Fields based on the defenses they've faced. At least Burrow has played two SEC defenses.

Georgia plays too conservatively on offense (compared to the others) to be even considered a Heisman Trophy Candidate. Fromm hasn't proven that he is much of a consistent deep (30yds or more) passer and the running backs operate out of committee. This could change for Fromm, but the fans haven't seen it yet. As for as the running backs, the goal is to keep them fresh and not to worn down so they can produce in the NFL if they have the opportunity. So I'm not really upset that Swift is not a prime time candidate, which we may all think as fans, but voters are too much interested in HUGE NUMBERS and consistent explosive plays.

Passion, Guts, and Relentless effort won't win the you the Heisman unfortunately....

Fromm could go undefeated and not throw a pic all season, and still not get invited to New York. Unless they drastically open up the offense, he will only throw for 300+ yards in a game or two this season. Similarly with Swift, there is too much sharing carries for him to build up the stats and be considered. Overall there is too much talent across the board to give one guy a bulk of the opportunities, and we should be thankful for that.

A few recruits might be swayed by a Heisman, but many many more will be swayed by the number of NFL draft picks UGA puts out over the next few years!
