Imagine what Jake would do if our receivers actually created some separation! I watch a lot of college football and there are receivers running free in almost every game. Not with the Dawgs. Most of the short passing game is designed to go downfield but Jake has to check down because our receivers don't get open. It's either back shoulder or fade that are usually 50/50, or short check down.
I agree. Watch the highlights from Ohio State games this year. Half of the passes that Justin Fields is completing is to wide-open receivers. Our receivers may be young (except Cager) but most were 5 star recruits. Why can't they get separation?
AMEN. Our receivers rarely get separation. Pickens is the most glaring example. He is a very special player but the DBs are typically on him like glue.
Dawgs won, Dawgs won!
