Yeah, seems incomplete. I'm quite concerned about our pass defense. Yep, our run defense is awesome but once again, we are allowing big pass plays. Tennessee didn't have the depth, so we shut them down, but if we are talking about playing at a NC level then "wearing down" isn't enough. You aren't going to be able to wear down the offenses of Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State. We have to be able to stop that pass.
And yeah, we need to re-evaluate punting. It's problematic at best.
Offense looked like Cheneyesque on several vanilla runs up the middles. 1st down run up the middle, 2nd down same, 3rd down same. Really? We must have slow recievers or bad play calling. How rare is it to see a guy, breaking wide open? Most passes are either back shoulder throws or jump ball types where our guy just out physicals a guy. Been waiting all season to see our O-line open a whole in the defense that a train could get through and bust one of our RB's for a long TD. Still waiting. Most of the long runs as in Herrien's case are just the sheer physical ability to shed tacklers. I appreciate the O-line keeping Jake upright, but 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 and we can't pick it up agaisnt Tennessee? Vandy? Come'on man! Still way too conservative on offense or else we just don't have the elite game breaker types(recievers) yet. HIre LSU's Offensive Coach they got from the Saints away from them. WHo ever figured LSU would be an offensive juggernaut?
"In no game last season did Baker have 3 pass breakups."
To be fair, there probably weren't that many games last season in which Baker was even targeted three times.
I cannot get over these "fans" that cannot stand winning. Those that can do and those who cannot criticize.. I am sure they are all American athletes and have an extensive coaching resume. Talk about energy vampires, I sure would not want them in the locker room. Thank goodness they do not represent or speak for the majority of UGA fans.
