Spurrier didn’t win his national championship until his 10th year as a head coach and seventh at Florida, at the age of 51.

Smart improves to 7-3 against Top 10 teams. Looks like there's still hope for Smart after all.
Kirby Smart is a young coach, and he has already accomplished so much in a very short time. Yet, many were predicting he would be out schemed, and out coached by Mullen, a coach who has never even won a division championship.
Kirby Smart out schemed, and out coached by Dan Mullen, yet again. How long before many in the media start giving Smart his proper due?
If the results were reversed, many would be saying how Smart got out schemed by a better coach. I doubt we see the reverse mentioned since it was Smart who came out on top...
@SportsDashBoard , that actually crossed my mind that our plan was to save all of our bullets for the November portion of the schedule. Even if true, the coaches would NEVER admit that because it would be a sign of disrespect to the other teams. But it is a point to consider. Whatever, I'm glad they took the gloves off on Saturday. I hope we have some other tricks in the bag waiting to be played.
Mullen has lost his best chance to take down Kirby in a long while! With all UF loses after this year and Mullen's utter failure to take advantage of being HC at the capstone university in the second best recruiting nation in the country (SBNATION), the Gator's ship has sailed!
As far as the Dawgs, the OL will be just as big and maybe better with the guys waiting in the wings. Mays' mean streak and ability to take care of business at the LOS then get downfield to throw additional blocks in the running game set us up well at LT. We are RBU! No problem there. Cager will be gone but Pickens will be 6'3'' and 215 rather than 195 and will feast on press coverage next year! The defense will be even better.
At QB, Fromm will come back to get his master's in finance and to throw to some talented and experienced receivers.
While Mullen's ship has sailed in just two years, Kirby is the captain of a lethal vessel that will be making upgrades on a yearly basis for years to come!
I know there was at least one more after that. I remember thinking, has the light bulb finally come on about bringing the toss sweep back?

One thing that was interesting for me was that the O-Line gave Fromm a HUGE amount of time to pass (which indeed really paid off), HOWEVER, that same O-Line was unable to make room for the running game. That might not be their fault and could be a coaching fault at not being able to penetrate the "loaded box", but it was interesting.
I've griped about the lack of originality and play design from Coley & Co. for a while. Saturday, there were a number of upgrades. Particularly, the Blaylock 3-yd TD pass was a new formation, and not something UF could have seen on film. It worked, but even better because Blaylock put his shoulder down at the goal line. Good to see the toss sweep again. Would like to see a double screen, faking short side and throwing wide side. Slants on first down, stops to TEs on possession downs. Need more of Cook. He's an "X-factor!" The talent on the field is certainly there, let's hope it's getting there in the press box. Go Dawgs!
