ESPN's Paul Finebaum: 'Georgia doesn't want Alabama'
As expected, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum somehow figured out a way to get a rise out of Georgia fans after the Bulldogs’ big win over Florida. Finebaum was asked this question on Sunday’s ESPN SportsCenter: If UGA reaches the SEC Championship game, would the Bulldogs rather play Alabama or LSU? “Georgia doesn’t want
Comments
LSU is the number one team in the nation for a reason.
That sort of nonsense question is completely OUT of Georgia's (and Kirby Smart's) control. Today is now November the 3rd, and it is way, way, WAY TOO premature (EARLY) to discuss that kind of "theoretical topic" (the sports media's "talking heads" doing the "what if's") when there are STILL FOUR regular season games left to play that Georgia MUST WIN THEM ALL!!! That is starting with this week's opponent, which is a very good Missouri football team visiting in Athens on Saturday night. Georgia's season is now simply down to one game at a time, right??? IF Georgia can somehow find a way to survive the remaining four games "November gauntlet" that is now
#1 - Missouri,
#2 - at Auburn,
#3 - Texas A&M,
and then #4 - at Georgia Tech....
and NOT LOSE????
Then they will have EARNED the right to play that game held in Atlanta at Mercedes Benz Stadium on December the 7th, in the SEC Championship Game. Until then????? WHO CARES????? BEAT MISSOURI!!!! GO DAWGS!!!!
UGA went blow for blow against Bama TWICE, and will welcome ANY opponent.
If the Dawgs get to the SEC Championship Game it will be “must see” TV, with the defense leading the way. Defenses do win championships.
GO DAWGS!
whatever Paul.
The real question is who does Georgia want to meet in the NC, Ohio State or Clemson?
Georgia (We) want to be in the SEC championship and welcome any opponent for a beat down! Go Dawgs!
First, let me say it’s insane to be talking about the SEC Championship when A&M, Auburn and Missouri stand in front of the Dogs. Tech’s never a gimme. But aside from the horrible juju of talking about it, IF GA DID win the East, here’s a take
Seriously want to take on Ala. But this year LSU would be more desirable opponent.
All focus is on Mizzou. Finebaum is becoming a legend in his own mind.
Really Paul Finebaum, UGA has dominated Bama both games. Yes they lost, but I am sure Nick don't want to see Kirby. It was some decision making and some lack of discipline in defensive assignment that Georgia lost. I recall no one really gave Georgia a chance in those games. Don't let one bad game fool you with them DAWGS. I heard all week about how vanilla Georgia offense has become. Guess what people, Georgia has been to the college championship game and the SEC title game with that same offense. Oh, they just beat the best one lost team everybody was talking about giving Georgia problems. Sometimes you sports experts sounds like politicians.
Kind-of a moot point after LSU beats bama.
If bama loses to LSU, and then LSU gets beaten in the SEC Championship, bama probably has the "aura" to get into the "four", of course, depending on what happens with Ohio State, Clemson, and the other undefeated teams. I believe that if we get to and win the SECC, then we should be "in". But, you never know....
Uh, minor point, but Alabama has to beat LSU first and, if you look at the schedules, no comparison. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. UGA might not get a shot at Alabama - oh, poor cringing Kirby Smart, uh, NOT - but only because Alabama isn't the "best" in the first place.
Rat Poison.....I want to beat Missouri next!
