Let's not let this ranking go to our heads. We still have to go out there and play like we're one of the best four teams in the country. We still have to want it. We still MUST take care of business! Play harder than your opponent, and everything else will take care of itself. Championships are earned! Not given to you! Let's get after it, Dawgs! Keep chopping, and out hustle the team in front of you!

    Let's GO DAWGS!

    BEAT AUBURN!

Have to admit I was not expecting us to jump Alabama but stay at #5. But, after reading, it does make sense based on our strength of schedule versus Alabama’s. Good to know committee took that into consideration. I would still like to see an 8 team playoff. The Power 5 conference champs all advance (regardless of losses) with three at large teams. I feel that would take some of the politics out of the decision making. As for Auburn Saturday, we just have to stay focused. I still believe if we can score 21-24 points Saturday we win on the strength of our defense. One game at a time! Go Dawgs!

I was hoping that we stayed at 5, because the hate will be real, now that we are 4. Just stay the course and beat Auburn,Texas A&M,GT and lets LSU hell in Atlanta.

    P.S

Remember LSU we O u One

This is great to hear for all of college football. Strength of schedule is a deciding factor here and Alabama is being punished for having a weak schedule and clearly had Clemson lost to UNC, they would've been below as well.

Now, of course, none of this matters to us as we'll either add to our resume with wins against Auburn, Texas A&M (whom both Bama and Clemson have has their sole "good team" victory) and LSU or we'll have 2+ losses and won't make it to the playoffs (but should get a nice Bowl Game and have a successful year, however disappointing).

Don't mean a thing, still have to out and win the "next" most important game of the year. Then the next, then the next, and so it goes. Great to be in the position to control your destiny.

SC loss is a non issue. It's a blemish, but doesn't factor in. Keep winning and that's where you always wanted to be. Lose and that's it. Even a zero loss UGA that loses in the SEC Championship will get passed over -- last year proved that. Too many other good teams. Just win baby.

Load the box and defend the edges...exactly what's been done to us all year! The difference: inexperienced receivers either don't get open or have drops; inexperienced QB has turnovers. Auburn is the next playoff game on our schedule. Nothing else matters!

And this is why UGA goes out and schedules the tough games against non conference opponents. It’s not about the losses as much as it is the quality wins. Go Dawgs!

They finally discussed the Real question --Does a 2 loss UGA team that goes on to win the SEC Championship game against the number 1 team in the nation get in? Every panelist member even Finnebaum said Yes and would be another year where 2 SEC teams make the Championship Four -- Georgia and LSU. Thoughts?

I'm surprised at Georgia being ranked over Alabama, but not because it's not deserved. The committee got the first rankings wrong, LSU was already more deserving than OS because their resume was clearly stronger.

At least they got it right this week. Saban has been padding his results partially by dodging any home and away OOC games. It has been a sound strategy, but now that Bama is losing the benefit of every doubt it's starting to catch up to them.

Maybe Georgia loses again, and Saban still skates down hill into the playoffs? A team who fails win their division should not be given a bye into the playoff. That is rewarding Alabama for failing to win the West, while punishing LSU for winning it.

Why reward Alabama by giving them the week off to rest up and game plan for the playoff, while LSU has to risk losing a game and getting players injured? No team who comes in second place should be rewarded by giving them an obvious advantage over three other teams who have actually earned their way in...

If UGA beats Albarn on the road.....it could very easily move to #3. That would give UGA Three (3) wins over ranked opponents.

I hate to use the term Rat poison. I am hoping the UGA's offense still feels slighted and less than accomplished (both are basically true) & become world beaters. I hope that the.. very young but stout..Defense is just too **** mean to get high on themselves and sees the remaining games as a chance to set a precedence and records that will drive them to future championships.
