Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I think many of can agree that Swilling started this fight. I also realize that many people feel like Pickens should have not gotten caught up in it. Anyways, a cameraman's camera was smashed by Swilling's elbow in the chaos. If you're feeling generous, feel free to go this guy's GoFundMe page in the article help pay for the $7,200 in damages to equipment.
Also, Tech sucks. I think their poor sportsmanship during the game was deplorable.

From StingTalk:
Perry McIntyre (the photographer) has been around forever and is a DGD. In the AJC article, he makes clear that he was photographing the Blaylock TD across the end zone and never even saw the fight until it was too late. (Which is an important detail IMO.)
For those who don't know him, here's an excerpt from his bio:
An alum of The Lovett School, Perry earned an ABJ from the University of Georgia. After undergrad, he was in the MBA program. At UGA he wrote three years for the Red & Black, the school's daily newspaper, also serving as sports editor. Hired by Dan Magill to assist in the UGA SID, he was the first editor of The Georgia Bulldog Magazine in 1980.

If you sign up to be that close to the action, its on you if your property is damaged. Would he be saying the same thing if Blaylock ran into him catching the TD pass?
I'd encourage you to read the article and see if you change your mind. He addresses your point head on.
I read it, my point stands. I wouldn't expect anything from anyone unless it was intentional. I feel for the guy, I do, and I like his go fund me. But I still wouldn't expect the players to pay for it.
I donated. He’s a DGD and shouldn’t have to be out doing his job
Gosh, now I'll have to go re-read the article. I didn't gather that he expected the players to pay for it. I thought he was just reaching out to DN for help.
I want restitution for having to endure that debacle. But seriously, take my wife.
Thats what i gathered by "restitution". I dont think Chamberlain Smith is asking Herrien for restitution for her hospital bills. I could be wrong but it sounds like he wants the players to be responsible for it which i disagree with. What Pickens did was **** and I spoke of that during the game, but at the end of the day if you're that close to the field, you take a chance.
Gotcha. I read that as directed toward the universities rather than the players. But he knows that will never happen, thus the GoFundMe.
Also, Chamberlain Smith works for UGA. She's not paying anything out of her own pocket. McIntyre is on his own.
I agree
When I did field security for home UGA games it was nearly impossible to keep photographers at a safe distance. Those guys creep right up to the line. I even got into a small altercation with one photographer because he said I was in his way. I told him it was my job to keep people off the field and at a safe distance. He didn't like that and we almost came to blows. I assume if you are a sideline photographer for a living you have insurance to cover damages. If you want to be right up on the sideline, it's your fault if you get run over and equipment destroyed.
"to bad the fight couldn't have killed him instead of the camera" I know its the internet, but people blow sometimes
