imageMultiple reports indicate Georgia offensive line coach Sam Pittman a serious candidate for SEC head coaching job

The Georgia offensive line has been one of the strengths under Georgia coach Kirby Smart. But the architect of that line — Sam Pittman — could be in line for a new job. Multiple reports — the first of which came from Yahoo's Pete Thamel — have indicated that Pittman is now a serious candidate for the Arkansas job. It

No no no. We can't lose Pittman. Pay him whatever he wants.

The first coaching staff change I wanted to read about was that Coley was gone and Bobo was back. Not that Ga was going to lose Pittman. SMH.

Teams play man to man and load the box. More defenders than blockers, but our Oline has NFL type material. Why can't we run the ball? Something doesn't add up.

Honestly, this one will hurt....plus there is word that Bobo is close to going to SCAR

we have some good OL recruits coming in next year, so there’s a possibility we lose some recruits on an already thin group, albeit talented class.

we can say that the OL underperformed this year, but they rotated a lot due to multiple players with injuries

It was a matter of time and the Pit-Man would be hired away from UGA as a head coach. It's the college way...the carousel. He came from Ark. so is likely to return. Now UGA can deal with Coley as well and get a real offensive pro. in that slot. Stay away from the loser colleges though!!!! Pittman will do some damage in recruiting with Ark. He knows how to attract those massive linemen....like UGA 2020 commit Josh Braun....6'6" 335-355 lbs.

Hmm!! From OL coach to head coach???!!! If Pittman goes, then we need to go after the OL coach at LSU. Their line looked much better than ours, albeit probably because we only rushed 3 much of the game.🤡 OSU or Wisconsin also have had great OLs throughout the year. Pittman is good, but he's not a one-of-a-kind hire.

Pittman said earlier he was just an "old offensive line coach, what did he know?" Can't imagine if that's how he truly feels to want to now take on head coaching at a major university with all that pressure. Just sayin.

Ditch Coley, name Pittman as OC, he surely couldn't be any worse..

  • latemodelraylatemodelray Posts: 155 ✭✭✭ Junior

Make Pitman the OC pay him whatever it takes to keep him around

Hire Bobo as Co-OC and QB coach making him the equal pay to Pitman

Pay the DC whatever it takes to keep him

Just my opinion but I would just assume replace CKS with Chris Petersen who just left his job than try and find an offensive line coach as good as Pitman …… some how he has juggled multiple 5 stars with the talent to play and start and he has kept the contempt enough to stay at UGA

It's all coming unglued for Kirby. He's in way over his head

"and he has kept the contempt enough to stay at UGA"

    LateModelRay, what does this mean?

Probably the one coach on the entire staff that is irreplaceable. If Pittman’s dream was to be a HC, there is no amount of money that we can give him as a raise to keep him.

Don’t be surprised if we start losing OL commits. These kids loved the Pitt Boss.

    Kirby is screwed right now.
