I guess we now see the softer side of Newman....the family, God, uinderrated most of his HS football life..but highly motivated and competitive. This is the SEC not Wake Forest...as he readily admits. A step up. Jamie will have to earn his stripes at UGA to start, though he does seem to have the tools and skillset that a pro-style QB possesses...just needs a coaching boost into the big time. UGA coaches can and will do that. I like that Jamie trained and practiced up in Atlanta for a week under some great tutors...enriching his skills. Good move. All we can do is wait and see how all of this Jamie hype plays out on the field of battle! Got a feeling he will shine!

Kirby has done a great job snagging graduates. The trend continues.

I like this guy, but he's going to have to beat out some good players. In any event, it looks like a winning move.

    Go, Dawgs!

I suspect Kirby was talking to Newman before Jakes announcement. I also suspect Jakes announcement was not a total surprise. In time we'll hear some of the details of what led to him leaving, but for now it looks believe we have upgraded the quarterback position.
