Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Didn't have "explosive runs" because the offensive line rarely allowed the RB's to get to the next level unscathed. The long runs we had were due to the RB's ability to shake a tackle at the line and pop it outside. I would argue that Pickens was an excellent blocker, very physical, and so was Cager (when healthy).
You bring in receivers who can catch the ball(why they're called receivers), blocking can be coached to some degree, but imagine not playing Jamar Chase because he wasn't a good blocker. A blocking wide receiver may help spring a runner for a few more yards on occasion(how many times over the course of a year?), which is a good thing, but I certainly would rather have a guy who I could throw to 7-8 times a game and know he's going to catch it and perhaps he will break one, and not my RB. I'll live with that guy.
If a receiver can do both well then great. How many big plays did Stanley or Simmons ever make by catching a pass. Not many. It's why teams put 8 in the box against us. No team feared our receivers.
