WATCH Former Georgia QB D.J. Shockley: Key to Jamie Newman being 'The Guy'
Georgia graduate transfer Jamie Newman has plenty of size and experience advantages over his competition at UGA, but former Bulldog D.J. Shockley said there's another key to him winning the job

Spot on. All the ability in the world will amount to nothing if rhythm/chemistry with teammates and command of the playbook are lacking. Go Dawgs!
I am certain Jamie will measure up to expectations. He is already on campus doing his thing...getting to know his teammates and coaches...and, yes, playbook. Powerful arm and quick set of pins. Further develop them and you have a pretty solid QB. If it turns out to be a QB competition...Jamie is in good stead to be the play caller....this year. After that...?
Bama game should be interesting at the very least. There is no mystique attached to Jamie Newman. Another team to him. He has no history with Saban and the Tide. Sure, he knows they are top of the college heap most of the time...but things are not as they used to be.
