Scott Cochran: Expert panel of coaches breaks down his impact for UGA
What will Scott Cochran mean to the Georgia football program? DawgNation took that question, among others, to an expert panel of high school coaches who have won more than a dozen state titles in Alabama that know Cochran very well.
Comments
The bottom line message I got from all this is a consensus that it might or might not hurt Alabama but it will help UGA. Anything that helps us is a good thing.
Too much hype on the expectations for Coach Cochran. Let the man do his job like the other nine assistants.
Cochran will be Bama HC in 2025.
Thank you Jeff for all the work and interviewing that went into this article.
What other coaches as well as previous players say about him is very telling. Cochran is a winner. His energy and passion transfer to field. His coaching special teams is likely just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I'm glad Kriby gave him the opportunity. Coach Cochran is no longer about BAMA. He is all Dawg and we are likely better for it! Go Dawgs.
Jeff is right...Scott Cochran is (now( a Bulldog. It is a mindset change. New slot : special teams coach. He will give his all as he did at Bama. All else is second guessing. Smart is a TEAM builder....and doing very well at it. GO DAWGS!!!
Concerning this not-so-new blog service DawgNation has used recently is, it is both positive and negative. I so used to love the comments of UGA naysayers. I used to enjoy the banter between UGA enthusiasts and those who hated us. Were such still available, I'd comment much more, for I hate boring. Everyone in agreement would say such is as boring as hell. Now, with great due diligence, you banish even the word h*ll. And God forbid anyone of another stripe offend us. Your monitoring, and penalizing the actions of other's in blogs being antithetical to free speech escapes the purview of far too many. Free it up some and you will have a much livelier conversation. In such an environment I would be a professor, according to your juvenile system of getting us to comment more often. Free speech, man! That is what garners comments! That, and the fact I had to once again sign in. Why the hell?
Great piece. Longer than usual, but it's great to hear from the guys that matter a heck of a lot, the HS coaches. They will make or break CSC as a recruiter.
I have no worries about CSC as a ST coach, he'll have our whole staff backing him up and accelerating his learning curve.
Another great hire by Coach Kirby Smart! I look forward to seeing Coach Cochran coaching the Special Teams and hitting the recruiting trail.
