Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

How much will UGA’s football season be impacted by the pandemic?
Lack of spring practice is likely to affect quality of play early on, but some even see a potential curtailing of the fall schedule.

Considering how rapidly the SEC sports situation has changed, “to make an assumption about anything, including football next fall, is just irresponsible,” Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity told DawgNation.
The rationale for holding a spring practice never changes....they are player and team "rapport" developers...synchronizers. This year is vastly different. McGarity is right....at this juncture, too many "ifs" to speculate on a regular fall season start...especially with the total lack of a spring team workout. IMO.
Let's all hope that COVID-19 dies down with the forthcoming warmer weather. And, let's also hope that it does not a make a resurgence as the weather cools in the fall.
Scary stuff.
Well assuming for now that the UGA vs. Bama game is played as scheduled, while it might be problematic for Georgia due to the loss of spring practice, it won't be a cakewalk for Bama. Although they do have a returning QB over there, the starting job was by no means guaranteed to go to him and simply walking in and replacing an elite talent like Tua will be no easy task. In addition, Saban has a lot of other holes that he's going to have to fill quickly and, like us and the rest of the SEC, they won't be able to have organized practices for quite a while. Will we have to overcome some obstacles? Of course. But I still like our chances. Go Dawgs!
Here's a USA Today column dealing with the threat to the football season ... https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/columnist/dan-wolken/2020/03/21/college-football-coaches-send-coronavirus-message-social-distancing-no-season/2892279001/?mc_cid=ea84fdb038&mc_eid=57f646e56f
ESPN college football analyst, Kirk Herbstreit says at this point he'd be "shocked" if there were an NFL or college football season.
