Tomorrow/possibly Friday will be huge. If Anderson (and to a lesser extent, Wright) can perform in the playoffs as rookies then we could make a run. Would also be huge for those guys’ development. Tomorrow, we will see what Anderson is really made of. Go Braves

    Respect Atlanta. 😂

Great win for the home team. Brutally tough for the other guys. Hopefully they don't get off the mat tomorrow.

12:08 start again. Anderson vs. Castillo

I'm just waiting for the inevitable slide in production that will occur when our weak rotation is exposed. Hoping we can produce runs consistently to keep up the wins but I am not betting on anything.

Yeah advanced analytics say it’s not a useful strategy. Also, people think bunting is like an automatic thing but bunting is low key pretty hard and not many have that skill these days.

Agree. I get frustrated when a major leaguer fails to successfully bunt, especially with 2 or 3 tries in an AB.

I believe the only time advanced analytics says to bunt is when runners are first and second and no outs (and these stats aren't that advanced, it just took teams who did and didn't bunt and averaged the runs scored, those that chose not to bunt scored more runs in those innings bunting situations came up).

Yeah, batters just don't practice it anymore. It used to be an artform, now it's an afterthought. I get why regular hitters don't practice it much due to advanced metrics, but it seems NL pitchers don't practice it much, as bunting has gotten awful from pitchers as well.

I'm generally against the NL adopting a DH, but watching pitchers fail to even bunt the last handful of years is beyond annoying.

Yeah, just imagine Fried and a healthy Soroka and Hamels as a 1, 2, 3 punch in the playoffs. That'd be nice to go along with this lineup. But it's going to be tough with this patchwork pitching staff.

we just need one of the pups to have a good game...especially if we can start hitting again. Seems like once we clinched our playoff spot, the hits haven't come as frequently. Can we push the button and get back to 7-8 runs per game?

My only regret is that if we win this game, it doesn’t allow Wright to get his postseason debut against the pathetic Reds’ lineup. This will be a big confidence booster for Anderson
