Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

You sure? Wal Mart did not open stores in Georgia until 1981. Maybe it was a precursor, like Big K, that later became a Walmart after the buyout.
May have been wrong on the date, but definitely was Waylon at a Wall Mart could have been early 80's. Maybe a grand opening.
Regardless, I'm sure it was a blast! Atlanta Metro was a very different place back then, so traffic was probably not an issue at all, either.

I've seen a lot of bands live from the late 60s until the early 90s. The best band I have ever seen live was the original Grand Funk Railroad.
Watched Netflix show about the making of We Are the World from the 1985 and was struck by the lasting star power and iconic status of so many in that song and video. Dylan, Springsteen, Ray Charles,Stevie Wonder, Waylon and Willie on and on. The song was what it was but everyone together was something else. Couldn’t help but laugh about Waylon leaving when it was suggested they sing a line in Swahili. They didn’t but Waylon eased out saying “this Good Ole Boy doesn’t do Swahili.”

Widespread Panic comes to St Augustine at the Amp for 3 nights every year. It is 3/22 to 3/24 this year. We have friends in Atlanta that come down and make a deal and go all 3 nights. They sell out.
Yep, I always catch at least one of those shows, sometimes more if home life allows.
