Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I stumbled on a band called The Main Squeeze. They do a lot of covers and absolutely rock em. Here is one of their originals. Play that funky music guys.
Here is them covering one of my all time favorite Floyd songs, Have a Cigar
There's a solution to getting in touch with music that will never be played on the radio - Spotify. I made the minimal investment and have never looked back. I've added hundreds of new bands and thousands of songs to my library.
I've been a Andy McKee fan for several years and remember when Drifting was released on Candy Rat records. Interestingly, Michael Hedges was a huge influence on Andy and it shows in the playing styles.
Billy Strings reminds me of BR5-49. Good stuff.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Gong Li
Tom Petty/Mudcrutch - Trailer
The Gaslight Anthem - She Loves You
Outkast - Bombs Over Baghdad (Zack de la Rocha Remix)
The Menzingers - Black Mass
Fountains of Wayne - Prom Theme
Against Me! - Sink, Florida, Sink
Pearl Jam - State of Love and Trust
The Killers - Just Another Girl
Smashing Pumpkins - Medellia of the Gray Skies
Whiskey on My Breath By Love and Theft
This is the best Billy Strings video. Everyone gravitates to dust in a baggie, but the kid is just so sick with his flat picking style you have to watch.
Marcus King. Young cat, shreds guitar, most soulful voice I have heard in a long time.
This is the Disco Biscuits. They are one of my all time favorite bands. They are the most original band I have heard in my life. Heavy on electronic and rock styles. You will love this or hate it. But, as the song says, "Sorry if you don't"
Well, if I'm doing a music dump, i'm going to drop some links for my all time favorite band.
And this....
And my all time favorite, ever.
Ha. Wasn't there a commercial back in the day (women's shampo?): "don't hate me because I'm beautiful"? You're reminding me of this. Maybe if this guy gets big and has many years of hard living on tour he'll look more gritty? /s
This may be my favrite song by Mumford & Sons. I'm posting it because I don't think it's as well known as the rest. Strong subject too.
Everyone knows Mayer, but I'm not sure everyone knows this song. One of my favorites by him
Mayer has really excelled in Dead & Company, the new Grateful Dead project with him and 4 of the surviving members of the dead. If you like his stuff, check that out. And I highly recommend attending a show when they come to town. Dude is definitely elevating his guitar work to new heights and it is awesome to see.
Great music in this thread! @dirtypants you hit on some of my all time favorites!
He's one of, if not the best guitarist of our generation IMO. He plays things I can't begin to replicate.
Broken Window Serenade is unbelievable. I use it in my Lit class. The song encompasses lots of different thoughts/feelings.
Good Lord. The greatest song of the 90s. Listened to this song on a cruise with friends under the influence of not beer or weed over and over again on my discman. On the top deck at 2 am. Had it all to ourselves. Must have listened to it over 15 times. SO intense with the moon and the waves. GREATEST song ever in my opinion.
So this one just came up on my timeline. I've never seen it, so I figure yall haven't either. What too much genius looks like.
Great memory. I can picture it for sure.
That whole album was awesome, from the iconic announcer + guitar intro of the opening track, STOP, to the dreamlike fade out of the final track, CLASSIC GIRL, and everything in between.
THREE DAYS, with its epic runtime, anchors the middle, while all of the tracks transition beautifully, one to the next, throughout the album.
One of my all time favorite tunes. Love the bass, flute and keyboard composition. Nice guitar work too.
UV for Keira Knightley.
Great tune. I love this one too by JA.
