Brock Vandagriff. I am into next season now...Brock is the man. Intelligent, 5-star QB talent, RPO, loves UGA and is one of UGA's best recruiters!

Ladies and gents, the whole things seems to me like Newman is leaving because he’s mad about something or scared about losing draft stock. I firmly believe Mathis is next man up. Having torn both acl’s you aren’t anywhere close to 💯 for atleast 18 months. All of this is speculation of course but where there’s smoke there’s a fire!

And come on! What better story than a kid battling back from a brain tumor to be your starter???

Does anyone else think Justin Fields got in his ear? If Newman played really well, that could of bumped Fields to 3rd qb taken. Now with not playing, scouts only have what he did at Wake. Which against the closest to a NFL defense, Clemson, he REALLY struggled. Maybe I'm missing something, but how much better are you getting by throwing against air for 8 months? Did he realize that Ga has a really good defense and he struggled against it? And does this count as a scholarship spot? On a personal note, I hope this doesn't mean that CKS has made it clear that he wants minimal risk for minimal reward, a.k.a. Fromm, and that is why Newman left. If so, this is another year of 3rd and 7 or more with runs up the middle. I hope thats not it. I would feel alot better if Mathis would put on about 15 more pounds. But he could easily be the starter.

    GO DAWGS!!!!

I'm excited to see what Beck can do, and I think he's the guy who is most helped by Newman's departure. If anything this move hurts Vandagriff. The younger guys Mathis and Beck are going to be getting a lot more playing time now that Newman is out of the picture. One of those guys catches on, and it's going to be tougher for him to get reps next season. I think Vandagriff is up for the challenge in either case, but it will be a more competitive room next season with this move.
